2019 Orlando Mayoral Election
The 2019 Orlando mayoral election was held on November 5, 2019 to elect the mayor of Orlando. Municipal elections in Orlando and Orange County are non-partisan. If no candidate receives a majority of the votes in the general election, runoffs are held between the two candidates that received the greatest number of votes. John Hugh "Buddy" Dyer (born August 7, 1958) is an American politician who is the 32nd Mayor of Orlando. First elected in 2003, he is Orlando's longest-serving mayor. He is a member of the Florida Democratic Party. Previously he represented Orlando in the Florida State Senate for ten years, including three years when he was the Senate Democratic leader. Early life and education Dyer was born in 1958 in Orlando. He grew up in nearby Kissimmee, graduating from Osceola High School.
