2019 MotoE Season
The 2019 MotoE season (known officially as the 2019 FIM Enel MotoE World Cup for sponsorship reasons) was the inaugural season of the MotoE World Cup for electric motorcycle racing, and was part of the 71st F.I.M. Grand Prix motorcycle racing season. After 6 races between July and November 2019, Italian rider Matteo Ferrari from the Trentino Gresini MotoE team became the first MotoE champion. The Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM; en, International Motorcycling Federation) is the global governing/sanctioning body of motorcycle racing. It represents 116 national motorcycle federations that are divided into six regional continental unions. There are seven motorcycle-racing disciplines that FIM covers, encompassing 82 world championships as well as hundreds of secondary championships: enduro, trial, circuit racing, motocross and supermoto, cross-country, e-bike, and track racing. Marc VDS Racing Team is a motorcycle racing team founded by Belgian owner Marc-Oswald van der Straten-Ponthoz, descendant of the founder of the Stella Artois brewery. Sic58 Squadra Corse is an Italian motorcycle racing team founded by Paolo Simoncelli in honour of his son, Marco Simoncelli (1987–2011). The team competes in the Moto3 World Championship and MotoE World Cup under the name Ongetta Sic58 Squadracorse, and the FIM CEV Repsol Moto3 Junior World Championship and European Talent Cup. Bradley Smith (motorcyclist)
Bradley Smith (born 28 November 1990) is a British occasional motorcycle racer who for 2022 is linked to RNF E-Racing in MotoE. He was injured shortly after a Le Mans start when he was the opening rider team for Moto Ain Yamaha, at an FIM Endurance World Championship event in April 2022. He missed the opening three rounds of the MotoE racing season, being declared unfit to race at the third round at Mugello on 29 May 2022. Late in 2022, Smith was called-in to ride as a rookie in the World Supersport Championship class, to replace injured Leonardo Taccini. Smith finished 14th after a three-place penalty in the first race at Circuito San Juan Villicum (Argentina), but was taken out when Luca Bernadi crashed into the rear of his Ten Kate Yamaha R6 at turn one early in the second race. Sepang Racing Team
The Sepang Racing Team (formerly known as SIC Racing Team) was a Malaysian Grand Prix motorcycle racing team which operated until the end of 2021, and was owned by the Sepang International Circuit. First established in 2015 in the Moto3 class and expanded in 2019, it fielded teams in MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3 championships. The MotoGP team was formally called Petronas Yamaha Sepang Racing Team (Petronas Yamaha SRT), while the Moto2 and Moto3 teams were named Petronas Sprinta Racing Team (Petronas SRT). Joshua Frederick Hook (born 9 January 1993) is an endurance world champion motorcycle racer from Australia. Currently competing in the FIM Endurance World Championship with F.C.C. TSR Honda France. He was the winner of 2011 Australia 125GP Championship on Aprilia. Career Early career Born in Taree, New South Wales, Hook started riding at the age of 14 months. He started dirt track riding in 2005, then moved to road racing in 2008, where he ranked 3rd in the MRRDA series nationally. Hook was selected to compete in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup in Europe in 2009 and 2010, finishing the seasons 19th and 12th respectively. Alex de Angelis (born 26 February 1984) is a Sammarinese retired motorcycle road racer. Career 125cc World Championship Born in Rimini, de Angelis made his debut at world championship level in 1999 in the 125 cc class; his first full season was in 2000, when his best results were two sixth places. He rode a total of four full seasons in the 125cc category.
