2019 Le Castellet Formula 3 Round
The 2019 Paul Ricard FIA Formula 3 round was a motor racing event held on 22 and 23 June 2019 at the Circuit Paul Ricard in France. It is the second round of the 2019 FIA Formula 3 Championship, and ran in support of the 2019 French Grand Prix. The Circuit Paul Ricard () is a French motorsport race track built in 1969 at Le Castellet, Var, near Marseille, with finance from pastis magnate Paul Ricard. Ricard wanted to experience the challenge of building a racetrack. The circuit has hosted the FIA Formula One French Grand Prix intermittently from to , and every year from to as well as from to . History First years (1970–1990) Opened on 19 April 1970, the circuit's innovative facilities made it one of the safest motor racing circuits in the world at the time of its opening. Artem Sergeevich Petrov ( rus, Артём Сергеевич Петро́в, p=ɐrˈtɵm pʲɪˈtrof, born 14 January 2000) is a Russian racing driver who most recently competed in the 2021 Indy Pro 2000 Championship for Exclusive Autosport. Career Karting Born in Saint Petersburg, Petrov began his karting career since the early ages before entering Russian and Finnish championships in 2008. Campos Racing is a Spanish motor racing team, founded by former Formula One driver Adrián Campos. The team has been successful in Formula Three and the GP2 Series. History After retiring from racing, Campos formed his own team at the end of 1997, under the name Campos Motorsport. In 1998 the team began by competing in the new Open Fortuna by Nissan, with Marc Gené and Antonio García as drivers. Alexander Peroni (born 27 November 1999) is an Australian racing driver, currently competing in the 2022 European Le Mans Series for Algarve Pro Racing. Niko Kari (born 6 October 1999) is a Finnish racing driver who last raced in the FIA Formula 3 Championship with Jenzer Motorsport. He won his first single-seater championship, the 2015 SMP F4 Championship, in his debut year in car racing and is a former member of the Red Bull Junior Team. Career Karting Kari started karting in 2009 and took part in his first race in 2010. He raced in several national karting series in Finland from 2010 to 2013. Career Karting Born in Rome, Pulcini began karting professionally in 2012 and came second in the CIK-FIA KF Junior championship a year later. The FIA Formula 3 Championship is a third-tier international single-seater racing championship and organised by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA). The championship launched in 2019 as a feeder series for the FIA Formula 1 World Championship and FIA Formula 2 Championships. It was the result of a merger between two third-tier single-seater racing championships, the GP3 Series and the FIA Formula 3 European Championship as it was announced on 10 March 2018. Nelson Piquet
Nelson Piquet Souto Maior (, born 17 August 1952) is a Brazilian retired racing driver and businessman. Since his retirement, Piquet, a three-time World Champion, has been ranked among the greatest Formula One (F1) drivers in various motorsport polls. Piquet had a brief career in tennis before losing interest in the sport and subsequently took up karting and hid his identity to prevent his father discovering his hobby. He became the Brazilian national karting champion in 1971–72 and won the Formula Vee championship in 1976.
