2019 Internationaux De France
The 2019 Internationaux de France was the third event of the 2019–20 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating, a senior-level international invitational competition series. It was held at Patinoire Polesud in Grenoble, France from November 1–3. Medals were awarded in the disciplines of single skating, men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dance. Skaters earned points toward qualifying for the 2019–20 Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final, 2019–20 Grand Prix Final. ISU Grand Prix Of Figure Skating
The ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating (known as ISU Champions Series from 1995 to 1997) is a series of senior international figure skating competitions organized by the International Skating Union. The invitational series was inaugurated in 1995, incorporating several previously existing events. Medals are awarded in the disciplines of single skating, men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. The junior-level equivalent is the ISU Junior Grand Prix. Carolane Soucisse
Carolane Soucisse (born February 10, 1995) is a Canadian ice dancer. With her skating partner, Shane Firus, she is the 2018 Four Continents silver medallist. They have finished third at the 2020 Canadian Championships and represented Canada on the Grand Prix circuit and at the World Championships. She previously competed with Alexandre Laliberté and Benjamin Smyth in the novice and junior ranks and Simon Tanguay in the junior and senior ranks. Andrew Wolfe
Andrew Wolfe (born May 20, 1995) is a Canadian pair skater. With his skating partner, Camille Ruest, he is the 2019 Canadian national bronze medallist, and has represented Canada at the Four Continents and World Championships, placing eighteenth at the 2018 World Championships in Milan. Career Early career Wolfe began learning to skate in 2003. With Courtney Baay, he finished 10th in novice ice dancing at the 2011 Canadian Championships. He placed 7th in the junior men's event at the 2014 Canadian Championships. In May 2014, Wolfe teamed up with Natasha Purich to compete in pair skating. Camille Ruest (; born November 23, 1993) is a Canadian retired competitive pair skater. With her skating partner, Andrew Wolfe, she is the 2019 Canadian national bronze medallist, and has represented Canada at the Four Continents and World Championships, placing eighteenth at the 2018 World Championships in Milan. Nicolas Nadeau (born September 30, 1997) is a Canadian competitive figure skater. As a singles skater, he is the 2016 World Junior silver medallist and the 2015 Canadian national junior champion. Personal life Nadeau was born on September 30, 1997, in Montreal, Quebec. He has three older sisters – Tania, Pamela, and Mélissa. He enjoys skiing in addition to figure skating. International Skating Union
The International Skating Union (ISU) is the international governing body for competitive ice skating disciplines, including figure skating, synchronized skating, speed skating, and short track speed skating. It was founded in Scheveningen, Netherlands, in July 1892, making it one of the oldest international sport federations. The 2019–20 Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final and ISU Junior Grand Prix Final was held from December 5–8, 2019 at the Torino Palavela in Turin, Italy. The combined event was the culmination of two international series — the Grand Prix of Figure Skating and the Junior Grand Prix. Ice Dance
Ice dance (sometimes referred to as ice dancing) is a discipline of figure skating that historically draws from ballroom dancing. It joined the World Figure Skating Championships in 1952, and became a Winter Olympic Games medal sport in 1976. According to the International Skating Union (ISU), the governing body of figure skating, an ice dance team consists of one woman and one man. Ice dance, like pairs skating, pair skating, has its roots in the "combined skating" developed in the 19th century by skating clubs and organizations and in recreational social skating. Pair Skating
Pair skating is a figure skating discipline defined by the International Skating Union (ISU) as "the skating of two persons in unison who perform their movements in such harmony with each other as to give the impression of genuine Pair Skating as compared with independent Single Skating".S&P/ID 2021, p. 109 The ISU also states that a pairs team consists of "one Woman and one Man". Pair skating, along with men's and women's single skating, has been an Olympic discipline since figure skating, the oldest Winter Olympic sport, was introduced at the 1908 Summer Olympics in London.
