Television is a popular form of entertainment in Mexico, with mass entertainment playing an important role in creating a national, unified culture. The ''telenovelas'' are very traditional in Mexico and are translated to many languages and seen all over the world with renowned names like Lucero, Thalía, Verónica Castro, Itati, Leticia Calderón and Victoria Ruffo. Network television There are three major television companies in Mexico that own the primary networks and broadcast covering all nation, Televisa, TV Azteca and Imagen Television. Televisa is also the largest producer of Spanish-language content in the world and also the world's largest Spanish-language media network. Media company Grupo Imagen is another national coverage television broadcaster in Mexico, that also owns the newspaper Excélsior. ''Por amar sin ley'' (English title: ''Laws of love'') is a Mexican telenovela produced by José Alberto Castro that premiered on Las Estrellas on 12 February 2018. It is a remake of a 2016 Colombian telenovela ''La ley del corazón''. The telenovela revolves around the personal life and work of a group of lawyers belonging to a prestigious law firm. Executive producer José Alberto Castro has said that he does not know if he will carry out a third season of the telenovela, but he left open all the elements to continue it if Televisa decides to do it later. Tepic
Tepic () is the capital and largest city of the western Mexican state of Nayarit, as well as the seat of the Tepic Municipality. The Program and System Information Protocol (PSIP) is the MPEG (a video and audio industry group) and privately defined program-specific information originally defined by General Instrument for the DigiCipher 2 system and later extended for the ATSC digital television system for carrying metadata about each channel in the broadcast MPEG transport stream of a television station and for publishing information about television programs so that viewers can select what to watch by title and description. Its FM radio equivalent is Radio Data System (RDS). Function PSIP defines virtual channels and content ratings, as well as electronic program guides with titles and (optionally) descriptions to be decoded and displayed by the ATSC tuner. TV Mar is the brand name for three television stations operating in western Mexico, owned and operated by CPS Media. History The TV Mar stations were awarded in the IFT-6 television station auction of 2017. Corporación Periodística Sudcaliforniana, S.A. de C.V. paid 5.179 million and 5.019 million pesos, respectively, for the stations in La Paz, Baja California Sur, La Paz and Los Cabos, Baja California Sur. However, a bidding war arose for the third station CPS would obtain, at Puerto Vallarta, with CPS's winning bid of 20.179 million pesos coming in the 21st subsequent round of the auction. Facility construction for the TV Mar stations was contemporaneous with the Radiante FM stations that CPS had previously won in all three cities in the IFT-4 radio auction (XHPLPZ-FM, XHPSJC-FM and XHPVBB-FM).
