2019 German Motorcycle Grand Prix
The 2019 German motorcycle Grand Prix was the ninth round of the 2019 MotoGP season. It was held at the Sachsenring in Hohenstein-Ernstthal on 7 July 2019. This round featured the first MotoE race. The class was originally meant to make its début at Jerez, but a fire in the paddock during pre-season testing destroyed all 18 bikes that were prepared and the Jerez round was cancelled along with the Le Mans round. The Sachsenring () is a motorsport racing circuit located in Hohenstein-Ernstthal near Chemnitz in Saxony, Germany. Among other events, it features the annual German motorcycle Grand Prix of the FIM Grand Prix motorcycle racing world championship. History The first race was held on 26 May 1927 on an layout on public roads, running also through the village of Hohenstein-Ernstthal itself. It was dubbed "Sachsenring" in 1937. The East German motorcycle Grand Prix was held there from 1961 to 1972. The local two stroke MZ bikes of Zschopau were competitive during this time. Energica Ego
The Energica Ego is an electrically propelled sport road motorcycle designed and marketed by Energica Motor Company. It is claimed by Energica to be the world's first street-legal electric Italian sport motorcycle. The prototype was finished in 2013 and the vehicle came into the market in 2015. The prototype made use of new technologies such as CNC and 3D-printing, including the dashboard and headlights which were 3D-printed. Design The Ego is an all-electric motorcycle. It has a 107 kW motor with 200 N⋅m of torque (at low RPM) giving it a top speed of 240 km/h. The motor is powered by an 11.7 kW⋅h battery. 2019 MotoGP Season
The 2019 FIM Grand Prix motorcycle racing, MotoGP World Championship was the premier class of the 71st Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme, F.I.M. Road racing, Road Racing World Championship season.
