The 2019 FineMark Women's Pro Tennis Championship was a professional tennis tournament played on outdoor clay courts. It was the first edition of the tournament which was part of the 2019 ITF Women's World Tennis Tour. It took place in Bonita Springs, Florida, United States between 6 and 12 May 2019. Clay Court
A clay court is one of the types of tennis court on which the sport of tennis, originally known as "lawn tennis", is played. Clay courts are made of crushed stone, brick, shale, or other unbound mineral aggregate depending on the tournament. The French Open uses clay courts, the only Grand Slam tournament to do so. Clay courts are more common in Continental Europe and Latin America than in North America, Asia-Pacific or Britain. Two main types exist: red clay, the more common variety, and green clay, also known as "rubico", which is a harder surface. Although less expensive to construct than other types of tennis courts, the maintenance costs of clay are high as the surface must be rolled to preserve flatness. Play Clay courts are considered "slow" because the balls bounce relatively high and lose much of their initial speed when contacting the surface, making it more difficult for a player to deliver an unreturnable shot. Alexandra Kiick (; born June 30, 1995) is an American tennis player. Kiick has won seven singles titles and two doubles titles on the ITF Women's Circuit. In June 2019, she reached her career-high singles ranking of world No. 126. In May 2014, she peaked at No. 214 in the doubles rankings. Career Between August 2015 and May 2017, Kiick did not play in any ITF Circuit tournaments. She was sidelined during this time because she was diagnosed with stage-II-skin cancer (melanoma) and severe knee injuries that caused her to be out for a total of three years and two months. She also was diagnosed with mononucleosis. In 2021, she was diagnosed with acoustic neuroma. Renata Zarazúa Ruckstuhl (; born 30 September 1997) is a Mexican tennis player. She reached a best singles ranking of world No. 117 in September 2021, and she peaked at No. 135 in the doubles rankings on 8 October 2018. Zarazúa made her WTA Tour singles debut at the 2016 Brasil Cup, where she reached the main draw through qualifying. On the ITF Circuit, she has won two titles in singles and sixteen titles in doubles. Gabriela Lee (née Talabă; born 23 August 1995) is a Romanian tennis player. She has a career-high WTA singles ranking of 136, achieved on 1 August 2022, and a career-high WTA doubles ranking of 229, also set on 1 August 2022.
