Winterberg Bobsleigh, Luge, And Skeleton Track
The Winterberg bobsleigh, luge, and skeleton track is a bobsleigh, luge, and skeleton track located in Winterberg, Germany. It is the only track of its kind in the world with a turn that has corporate sponsorship with turn seven being sponsored by Veltins, a German brewery which has its headquarters located in neighboring Meschede. History Completed in 1977, the track underwent a redesign of its start house area where the women's luge start house was moved from before turn four to near the men's luge start house prior to turn one in 2006. Kristers Aparjods (born 24 February 1998) is a Latvian luger. He started competing in luge in 2006. Career He took the gold medal in the singles event in the 2016 Winter Youth Olympics in Lillehammer, Norway, where he was also selected as the flag bearer for the Latvians in the opening ceremony. He was also part of the Latvian team which won the team relay at the 2015 Junior World Championships in Lillehammer, and went on to take a silver in the singles at the 2016 Junior World Championships in Winterberg, Germany, and a gold in the singles on home ice at the 2017 Junior Worlds at Sigulda. Anton Olehovych Dukach ( uk, Антон Олегович Дукач, born 30 July 1995) is a Ukrainian luger. Career At the 2012 Winter Youth Olympics in Innsbruck, Austria, Anton Dukach finished 4th in boys' singles having lost 0.022 sec to German athlete who was third. He was 7th in team relay (together with Stetskiv, Buryy, and Lehedza). He was also the flagbearer of Ukraine at the Games. Dukach's first World Cup season was the 2012-13 season.
