2019 Denver Outlaws Season
The 2019 Denver Outlaws season was the fourteenth season for the Outlaws franchise of Major League Lacrosse. It was also the first season under head coach Tony Seaman, who previously served as general manager before B.J. O'Hara took the head coaching job for the New York Lizards. The Denver Outlaws had a very strong team, having 7 players go to the All Star game. Coming off of a 2018 championship season where the Outlaws again got off to a slow start (1-4) before rattling off a six-game win streak in the regular season and two postseason upsets over the second and top-seeded Chesapeake Bayhawks and Dallas Rattlers, hoisting the Steinfeld Trophy for the third time in five years on August 18 after defeating the Rattlers, 16-12 at MUSC Health Stadium in Charleston, South Carolina, the Outlaws finished with a 9-7 record and returned to the championship game for the fourth consecutive year but would lose to the Chesapeake Bayhawks in a heartbreaker by the score of 10-9. Major League Lacrosse
Major League Lacrosse (MLL) was a men's field lacrosse league in the United States. The league's inaugural season was in 2001. Teams played anywhere from ten to 16 games in a summertime regular season. This was followed by a four-team playoff for the championship trophy, the Steinfeld Trophy, named after founder Jake Steinfeld. League attendance peaked at 6,417 in 2011 and the 2019 average was 4,587. The Chesapeake Bayhawks and New York Lizards (originally the Baltimore Bayhawks and Long Island Lizards) were MLL members throughout its existence and competed in the first three championship games, with the Lizards winning two. The Boston Cannons, the last of the six charter franchises to remain in their original market with their original name, won their first championship in 2011. Ford Center At The Star
Ford Center at The Star is a 12,000-seat indoor stadium located in Frisco, Texas. Its main use is as the Dallas Cowboys' practice facility. It is also used for Whataburger's Friday Night Stars, an event every Friday showcasing Frisco Independent School District high school varsity football. Veterans Memorial Stadium (Quincy, Massachusetts)
Veterans Memorial Stadium is a multipurpose outdoor stadium in Quincy, Massachusetts. Built from 1937-1938 under the Works Progress Administration, it seats 5,000 spectators for football, soccer, Rugby union and lacrosse. The stadium underwent a $1.2 million renovation in 2006, including accessibility improvements and new synthetic turf as well as making the stadium usable as a lacrosse, rugby and soccer field, and another $1.5 million renovation in 2018, adding extra capacity and a large electronic video board. Boston Cannons
The Cannons Lacrosse Club are a professional men's field lacrosse team in the Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) . Formerly based in Boston, Massachusetts, they played in Major League Lacrosse (MLL) as the Boston Cannons from their inaugural 2001 season to 2020. The team's home field was Veterans Memorial Stadium in nearby Quincy. In the MLL, the team won two Steinfeld Cup championship games in 2011 and 2020, the latter being the MLL's final championship. The Cannons joined the PLL in 2020 following the MLL–PLL merger and were rebranded as the Cannons Lacrosse Club. Eddie S Henderson Stadium (formerly Grady Stadium) is an Atlanta Public School football stadium located in Midtown Atlanta, south of Piedmont Park. The stadium is one of two stadiums owned and managed by the Atlanta Public School (APS) system, the other being Lakewood Stadium. It is the only high school stadium in APS that is located on the campus of a high school. The Atlanta Blaze were a professional men's field lacrosse team in Major League Lacrosse (MLL). The Blaze became the ninth team in MLL as an expansion team for the 2016 Major League Lacrosse season, 2016 season and played its home games at Atlanta Silverbacks Park in Atlanta, Georgia. Franchise history On August 7, 2015, the MLL granted an expansion franchise to Atlanta, Georgia for the 2016 Major League Lacrosse season, 2016 MLL season. The Rutgers Scarlet Knights men's lacrosse team represents Rutgers University main campus in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I college lacrosse. The program first started at the varsity level in 1887. The North Carolina Tar Heels men's lacrosse team represents the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I men's lacrosse.
