2019 Colorado Rockies Season
The 2019 Colorado Rockies season was the franchise's 27th in Major League Baseball. It was their 25th season at Coors Field. Bud Black returned as Manager for his 3rd season in 2019. Before the season began Black was officially offered a 3-year contract extension deal that would see him remain Manager till the 2022 season. After making the playoffs the previous two seasons, the Rockies were eliminated from postseason contention on September 12. National League West
The National League West is one of Major League Baseball's six divisions. This division was formed for the 1969 season when the National League expanded to 12 teams by adding the San Diego Padres and the Montreal Expos. For purpose of keeping a regular-season of 162 games, half of the teams were put into the new National League East, East Division and half into the new West Division. Within each division, the teams played 18 games each against their five division mates (90 games), and also 12 games against the teams in the opposite division (72 games), totaling 162 games. Geography Despite the geography, the owners of the Chicago Cubs insisted that their team be placed into the East Division along with the teams in New York City, Philadelphia, and Pittsburgh. Mark Reynolds (baseball)
Mark Andrew Reynolds (born August 3, 1983) is an American former professional baseball infielder. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Arizona Diamondbacks, Baltimore Orioles, Cleveland Indians, New York Yankees, Milwaukee Brewers, St. Louis Cardinals, Washington Nationals, and two stints with the Colorado Rockies. A right-hander both when batting and throwing, Reynolds was known for his frequent and long home runs, high strikeout totals, and defensive versatility, having been primarily a third baseman before transitioning to first base while playing for the Orioles. Sergio Francisco Romo (born March 4, 1983) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Acereros de Monclova of the Mexican League. Jon Gray
Jonathan Charles Gray (born November 5, 1991) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Texas Rangers of Major League Baseball (MLB). He previously played for the Colorado Rockies. Sandy Alcántara Montero (born September 7, 1995) is a Dominican professional baseball pitcher for the Miami Marlins of Major League Baseball (MLB). He signed with the St. Louis Cardinals as an international free agent in 2013, and made his MLB debut with them in 2017. In 2022, Alcántara unanimously won the National League Cy Young Award. Adam Michael Conley (born May 24, 1990) is an American former professional baseball pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Miami Marlins from 2015 to 2019 and the Tampa Bay Rays in 2021. 2019 Miami Marlins Season
The Miami Marlins' 2019 season was the 27th season for the Major League Baseball (MLB) franchise in the National League and the 8th as the "Miami" Marlins. The Marlins played their home games at Marlins Park as members of the National League East Division. They were unable to improve upon their record from the previous season, finished with the second worst record in the history of the franchise at 57-105, and were eliminated from the postseason for the sixteenth straight year. One highlight of their season was winning a season series over the Philadelphia Phillies for the first time since 2008, and sweeping them in a home series for the first time since 2009.
