2019 Big South Conference Women's Basketball Tournament
The 2019 Big South women's basketball tournament was the postseason women's basketball tournament that ended the 2018–19 season of the Big South Conference. It was held March 12 through March 17, 2019, at various campus sites. Radford won the conference tournament championship game over the Campbell Lady Camels, 57–45, to receive the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. Sites The first round will be played at campus sites at the home of the higher seed. The quarterfinals and semifinals will be played at #1 and #2 seeds. The championship game will be held at the home arena of the higher surviving seed. Seeds All 11 conference teams are eligible for the tournament. The top five teams will receive a first-round bye. Teams are seeded by record within the conference, with a tiebreaker system to seed teams with identical conference records. Mike McGuire (basketball)
Mike McGuire (born March 18, 1977) is the head coach of the Radford University women's basketball team. In six years as a high school basketball coach, he accumulated a record of 105-52 (). At Hidden Valley High School, McGuire led the team to back to back Virginia Group AA state titles. Over those two years, at Hidden Valley High School, he accumulated a record of 55-5 (). The Campbell Lady Camels basketball team is the women's basketball team that represent the Campbell University in Buies Creek, North Carolina. The school's team currently competes in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA), having moved from the Big South Conference in 2023. History Campbell began varsity play in 1972. They played in the NAIA from 1972 to 1986 before joining Division I in 1986. The 2019 NCAA Division I women's basketball tournament was a single-elimination tournament of 64 teams to determine the national champion for the 2018–19 NCAA Division I women's basketball season.
