2019 Batangas Local Elections
Batangas held its local elections on May 13, 2019 as part of the 2019 general election. Voters will select candidates for all local positions: a town mayor, vice mayor and town councilors, as well as members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, the vice-governor, governor and for the six districts of Batangas. Provincial elections Governor Incumbent Hermilando Mandanas ran for reelection. Vice Governor Incumbent Sofronio Ona, Jr. did not run for his second term, he instead ran for Mayor of Calaca, Batangas. Running for the position were Reynan Bool and former Vice Governors Jose Antonio Leviste II and Richard Recto. Congressional Elections 1st District Eileen Ermita-Buhain was the incumbent. Hermilando Mandanas
Hermilando Ingco Mandanas (born March 25, 1944), also known as Dodo Mandanas and colloquially as Dodo, is a Filipino politician who served as Governor of Batangas since 2016; previously served this position from 1995 until 2004. He served as a Member of the House of Representatives of the Philippines, representing the 2nd District of Batangas from 2004 until 2013. Early life and education Hermilando Ingco Mandanas was born on March 25, 1944 in Bauan, Batangas. He finished his Bachelor of Science in Commerce degree as consistent dean's lister – first honor at De La Salle University. Lemery, Batangas
Lemery, officially the Municipality of Lemery ( tgl, Bayan ng Lemery), is a 1st class municipality in the province of Batangas, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 93,186 people. Lemery is a growing urban center in western Batangas. The municipality was named after Captain Roberto Lemery, a commanding officer of the local garrison. He took command of the local military outpost until his death in 1856.
