2019 Atlantic 10 Women's Basketball Tournament
The 2019 Atlantic 10 women's basketball tournament was a postseason tournament that conclude the 2018–19 season of the Atlantic 10 Conference. It was played at campus sites on March 5 for the first round, with the remaining games held on March 8–10 at the Palumbo Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Fordham defeated VCU, 62–47, to win the tournament championship and earn the automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse, originally known as A.J. Palumbo Center, is a 3,500-seat multi-purpose arena in the Uptown area of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania served by exits on both Interstate 376 and Interstate 579. 2018–19 Fordham Rams Women's Basketball Team
The 2018–19 Fordham Rams women's basketball team represents Fordham University during the 2018–19 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Rams are led by eighth-year head coach Stephanie Gaitley. They were members of the Atlantic 10 Conference and play their home games at the Rose Hill Gymnasium. Stephanie Gaitley
Stephanie Gaitley (née Vanderslice; born January 25, 1960) is the head basketball coach of the Fairleigh Dickinson Knights, Fairleigh Dickinson Knights women's basketball. She has served as head basketball coach at Fordham University, Monmouth University, and Long Island University. During her six seasons at LIU, she posted a 95–82 record. In 2007, she guided LIU to a school record 22 wins, and the top overall seed in the NEC tournament. She was named the 2006-07 NEC coach of the year for her efforts. She led LIU to two 20+ win seasons, and the first WNIT appearance in school history. She also served as the head basketball coach at Saint Joseph's University in Philadelphia. The Atlantic 10 Conference (A-10) is a collegiate athletic conference whose schools compete in the National Collegiate Athletic Association's (NCAA) Division I. The A-10's member schools are located in states mostly on the United States Eastern Seaboard, as well as some in the Midwest: Massachusetts, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Virginia, Ohio, Illinois, and Missouri as well as in the District of Columbia. The Fordham Rams women's basketball team represents Fordham University, located in the Bronx, New York, in NCAA Division I basketball competition. They currently compete in the Atlantic 10 Conference. History Fordham began play in 1970.
