2019 America East Men's Basketball Tournament
The 2019 America East men's basketball tournament was the postseason men's basketball tournament for the America East Conference, which was held on March 9, 12, and 16, 2019. All tournament games were played on home arenas of the higher-seeded school. 2018–19 Vermont Catamounts men's basketball team, Vermont defeated 2018–19 UMBC Retrievers men's basketball team, UMBC 66–49 in the championship game and received the conference's automatic bid to the 2019 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament, NCAA tournament. This was the seventh time Vermont has won the America East tournament championship, which ties them with former member Northeastern Huskies men's basketball, Northeastern for the most all time. The Roy L. Patrick Gymnasium is a 3,228 seat (3,266 for men's and women's basketball) multi-purpose arena in Burlington, Vermont. It was built in 1963 to replace the Old Gymnasium, a then-60-year-old facility now known as the Royall Tyler Theater. The 2018–19 Hartford Hawks men's basketball team represented the University of Hartford in the 2018–19 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. They played their home games at the Chase Arena at Reich Family Pavilion in West Hartford, Connecticut and were led by 9th-year head coach John Gallagher. The 2018–19 America East Conference men's basketball season will begin with practices in October 2018, followed by the start of the 2018–19 NCAA Division I men's basketball season in November.
