2018–19 Women's National Cricket League Season
The 2018–19 Women's National Cricket League season was the 23rd season of the Women's National Cricket League, the women's domestic limited overs cricket competition in Australia. The tournament started on 21 September 2018 and finished on 9 February 2019. Defending champions New South Wales Breakers won the tournament for the 20th time after topping the ladder and beating Queensland Fire in the final. Makinley Blows
Makinley Blows (born 12 December 1997) is an Australian former cricketer who played for Victoria in the Women's National Cricket League (WNCL). An all-rounder, she batted left-handed and bowled right-arm medium pace. In the 2015–16 under-18 State Championships, Blows was able to produce a knock of 152 not out to help send her team, Mallee Murray into the finals. Prior to that, in 2014–15, she made heads turn by scoring two unbeaten centuries on Day 2 of the under-18 State Female Championships. In the first match, she scored 125* after only facing 69 balls, while in the afternoon she dominated with 105* also off 69 balls. Blows was also a major contributor with the bat in the under-18 National Championships, scoring 205 runs throughout the tournament. Not only did she make in impact with the bat, but Blows was able to do some damage with the ball, with her best figures including 2/20 against South Australia. Taneale Christy Jane Peschel (born 29 August 1994) is an Australian cricketer who plays as a right-arm medium pace bowler and right-handed batter for Western Australia in the Women's National Cricket League (WNCL) and the Perth Scorchers in the Women's Big Bash League (WBBL). She made her debut for Western Australia on 26 October 2013 against Queensland. Allan Border Field
Allan Border Field is a cricket ground in the Brisbane suburb of Albion in Queensland. The Australian Cricket Academy has been based at the oval since 2004 using it as a base for the development of elite cricketers throughout Australia. It was formerly known as ''Neumann Oval'' and was home to the Fortitude Valley Diehards rugby league team from 1909 until 1995. The oval was named for Fred "Firpo" Neumann, Valley's club captain (and later president) and Queensland and Australian representative footballer. Queensland Cricket purchased the ground not long after Valley's relocation and named it in honour of former Australian cricket captain Allan Border.
