2018–19 Southern Lady Jaguars Basketball Team
The 2018–19 Southern Lady Jaguars basketball team represented Southern University during the 2018–19 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Lady Jaguars, led by first year head coach Carlos Funchess, played their home games at the F. G. Clark Center, as members of the Southwestern Athletic Conference. They finished the season 20–13, 12–4 in SWAC play to win the SWAC regular season championship. They also won the SWAC women's tournament, earning them an automatic bid to the NCAA women's tournament. They were seeded sixteenth, and lost to No. 1 seed Mississippi State in the first round. Memorial High School is a public, co-educational secondary school located in Port Arthur, Texas, United States. It was established in August 2002 after a merger of three previous high schools: Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, and Stephen F. Austin. Since then, Port Arthur Memorial High School has been the only high school in the Port Arthur Independent School District. It serves most of Port Arthur and a portion of Groves. Port Arthur is a city in Jefferson County within the Beaumont–Port Arthur metropolitan area of the U.S. state of Texas. A small, uninhabited portion extends into Orange County; it is east of Houston. The largest oil refinery in the United States, the Motiva Refinery, is located in Port Arthur. The population of Port Arthur was 53,818 at the 2010 census, down from 57,755 at the 2000 census. Terry is a town in Hinds County, Mississippi, United States. The population was 1,063 at the 2010 census, up from 664 at the 2000 census. It is located along Interstate 55, about southwest of Jackson and located in Supervisors District Five of Hinds County. The town is part of the Jackson Metropolitan Statistical Area. History The town of Terry, originally known as Dry Grove, changed its name in honor of W. D. Terry, whose land the town was built on. Westlake High School is a high school in Westlake, Louisiana. It is a part of Calcasieu Parish Public Schools and was established in 1914. History Until Westlake High's founding in 1914, Westlake students attended Lake Charles High School. Mr. S.P. Arnett organized the establishment of a high school building on Sulphur Avenue. The building was made of red bricks painted yellow, and became known as the "yellow brick building". An auditorium/gymnasium, called the "red brick building," opened in 1936. Ruston High School is a four-year public high school located in the Lincoln Parish School District of Ruston, Louisiana, United States.
