2018–19 Southend United F.C. Season
The 2018–19 season was Southend United's 113th year in existence and their fourth consecutive season in League One. Along with competing in League One, the club participated in the FA Cup, EFL Cup and EFL Trophy. The season covers the period from 1 July 2018 to 30 June 2019. Southend-on-Sea (), commonly referred to as Southend (), is a coastal city and unitary authority area with borough status in southeastern Essex, England. It lies on the north side of the Thames Estuary, east of central London. It is bordered to the north by Rochford and to the west by Castle Point. Luke Ayling
Luke David Ayling (born 25 August 1991) is an English professional footballer who plays as a defender and often captains club Leeds United. Although normally playing as a right-back, he can also function as a centre-back. Ayling began his career at Arsenal joining the club at the age of 8. He was part of Arsenal youth team's double-winning team of the 2008–09 season, before signing his first professional contract in July 2009. Ayling was loaned out to Yeovil Town in March 2010 and played four matches. At the end of the season he agreed a permanent deal with Yeovil. Harry George Lennon (born 16 December 1994) is an English former professional footballer who played as a defender. Career Charlton Athletic Born in Romford, England, Lennon joined Charlton Athletic's academy and once captained the U18 squad. In December 2012, Lennon signed his first professional contract at the club. One year later in December, Lennon signed a new contract with the club, which will keep him until June 2016. Lennon made his first team debut for Charlton Athletic in the 1–0 FA Cup fourth round away win against Huddersfield Town, where he came on as a substitute for Cedric Evina in the first half.
