2018–19 Saudi Professional League
The 2018–19 Saudi Professional League was the 44th edition of the Saudi Professional League, the top Saudi professional league for association football clubs, since its establishment in 1975. The season started on 30 August 2018 and concluded on 16 May 2019. Al-Hilal were the defending champions after winning the Pro League last season for the 15th time. Al-Wehda and Al-Hazem have entered as the promoted teams from the 2017–18 Prince Mohammad bin Salman League. Al-Nassr were crowned as league winners for the 8th time on 16 May, after defeating Al-Batin 2–1 on the final day of the season. Ohod were the first team to be relegated after a 3–1 defeat to Al-Fayha on 12 April 2019. Al-Batin were the second team to be relegated following their 1–0 defeat to an already relegated Ohod. The Saudi Pro League (SPL for short) ( ar, دوري المحترفين السعودي, link=no, ''Dawriyy al-Muḥtarifayni as-Suʿūdī''), known as the Roshn Saudi League (RSL for short) for sponsorship reasons, is the top division of association football in the Saudi Arabian league system. The 2017–18 Saudi Professional League (also known formerly as a Jameel League for sponsorship reasons), was the 42nd season of the Saudi Professional League, the top Saudi professional league for association football clubs, since its establishment in 1976. The season started on 10 August 2017 and concluded on 12 April 2018. Al-Hilal were the defending champions after winning the Pro League last season for the 14th time. Al-Fayha and Ohod have entered as the promoted teams from the 2016–17 Saudi First Division. Al-Hilal were crowned as league winners for the second season in a row on the 12 April, after defeating Al-Fateh 4–1 on the final day of the season. Al-Mujazzal Club
Al Mujazzal Club () is a Saudi Arabian football team based in Al Majma'ah that is currently playing in the Saudi Third Division. Their home stadium is King Salman Sport City Stadium. On 23 April 2016, Al-Mujazzal won its first ever league title winning the 2015–16 Saudi First Division and achieved their first ever promotion to the top flight league. However, on 21 July 2016, the Saudi Arabian Football Federation decided to strip them off their title and promotion due to a match fixing scandal and demoted them to last place in the 2015–16 Saudi First Division thus getting relegated to the Second Division. Al-Qadisiyah FC
Al-Qadsiah Football Club ( ar, نادي القادسية) is a Saudi Arabian professional football club that competes in the Saudi First Division League. They are based in Khobar and their home ground is the Prince Saud bin Jalawi Stadium. History Al-Qadsiah have been a regular and uninterrupted participant in the Saudi Premier League since its inception in the inaugural 1976-77 season, their best ever top-flight season came in the 1980–81 season when they finished in 3rd place. Al-Faisaly FC ( ar, نادي الفيصلي) is a Saudi Arabian football team playing in the Saudi Professional League, based in Harmah City with a population of around 15,000 people. The club is named after King Faisal (r. 1964–75); he was crown prince at the time of the club's founding. History Al-Faisaly finished as the runner-up in the 2005–06 first division season, thus becoming the first club from the Sudair region to achieve promotion to the top flight but went straight back down after just one season. Pedro Emanuel dos Santos Martins Silva (born 11 February 1975), known as Pedro Emanuel, is a Portuguese retired footballer who played mainly as a central defender, currently manager of Saudi Arabian club Khaleej FC. In his 16-year professional career he was closely associated with the two biggest teams in Porto, Boavista – he helped it win its first and only Primeira Liga title in 2001 – and FC Porto, being team captain of both. The 2017–18 Prince Mohammad bin Salman League was the 1st season of the Prince Mohammad bin Salman League under its current name, and 41st season of the Saudi First Division since its establishment in 1976. The season started on 12 September 2017 and concluded on 18 April 2018. Overview First Division rebranding On 19 September 2017, the General Sports Authority announced a rebrand; beginning with the 2017–18 season, the competition was known as the Prince Faisal bin Fahd League. As part of the rebranding, a new logo was introduced.
