2018–19 Nebraska Cornhuskers Men's Basketball Team
The 2018–19 Nebraska Cornhuskers men's basketball team represented the University of Nebraska in the 2018–19 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Cornhuskers were led by seventh-year coach head coach Tim Miles and played their home games at Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln, Nebraska as members of the Big Ten Conference. They finished the season 19–17, 6–14 in Big Ten play to finish in 13th place. In the Big Ten tournament, they defeated Rutgers and Maryland to advance to the quarterfinals where they lost to Wisconsin. They received an at-large bid to the National Invitation Tournament where they defeated Butler in the first round before losing to TCU. On March 26, 2019, Tim Miles was fired. Four days later, the school hired former Chicago Bulls' head coach Fred Hoiberg as the next head coach. Tim Miles
Timothy Sean Miles (born August 20, 1966) is an American college basketball coach who is the current head coach of the San Jose State Spartans men's basketball team. Miles previously served as the head coach of North Dakota State University, Colorado State University and the University of Nebraska. Miles is a graduate of the University of Mary. Coaching career Early career Following his playing career at the University of Mary, Miles spent five seasons as an assistant coach at Northern State University, where the Wolves went to four NAIA II national tournaments and two national championship games. In 1995, Miles left to accept his first head coaching job at NAIA II Mayville State. In both his seasons at Mayville State, Miles led the Comets to NDCAC Championships and the NAIA II National Tournament. Despite winning 13 Big Ten games, the Cornhuskers did not receive a bid to the NCAA tournament, but did receive a bid to the National Invitation Tournament. Jack McVeigh
Jack McVeigh (born 27 June 1996) is an Australian professional basketball player for USC Heidelberg of the Basketball Bundesliga. He is also contracted with the Tasmania JackJumpers of the National Basketball League (NBL). Early life McVeigh was born in Cabarita Beach, just 20km south of the Queensland-New South Wales border. He grew up on the Gold Coast where he attended The Southport School and began playing junior basketball at the age of five for the North Gold Coast Seahawks. He played in the SEABL with the BA Centre of Excellence in 2014 and 2015. College career McVeigh played college basketball with the Nebraska Cornhuskers for three seasons. The Dayton Flyers men's basketball team is a college basketball program that competes in NCAA Division I and the Atlantic 10 Conference (A-10) representing the University of Dayton in Ohio. The Flyers play their home games at University of Dayton Arena. The Flyers are coached by Anthony Grant who is in his fifth season. Jordy Tshimanga
Jordy Tshimanga (born November 4, 1996) is a Canadian professional basketball player for the Cocodrilos de Caracas of the Superliga Profesional de Baloncesto (SPB). Isaac Copeland
Isaac Copeland, Jr. (born June 13, 1995) is an American professional basketball player who is currently a free agent. He played college basketball for the Nebraska Cornhuskers and the Georgetown Hoyas. Early life Copeland was born in Greenville, North Carolina and attended high school at Ravenscroft School in Raleigh, North Carolina and Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire. He was a five-star recruit and signed to play with Georgetown in 2014. College career Copeland initially played two full seasons at Georgetown but suffered a back injury in 2016, requiring surgery, resulting in a medical redshirt season. He subsequently transferred to Nebraska in the mid-season but did not practice with the team during his rehabilitation.
