2018–19 Houston Cougars Men's Basketball Team
The 2018–19 Houston Cougars men's basketball team represented the University of Houston during the 2018–19 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Cougars were led by fifth-year head coach Kelvin Sampson as members of the American Athletic Conference. Beginning December 1, 2018, they played their home games at Fertitta Center, which reopened after a $60 million upgrade. The Cougars played their first four non-conference home games at H&PE Arena while construction on Fertitta Center was completed. Houston finished the 2018–19 regular season 29–2, including an AAC-best 16–2 record in conference play. They were the runner-up in the American Athletic Conference tournament, falling 69–57 to Cincinnati in the final. Kelvin Sampson
Kelvin Dale Sampson (born October 5, 1955) is an American college basketball coach, currently the head coach for the University of Houston of the American Athletic Conference. Early life Sampson was born in the Lumbee Native American community of Deep Branch in Robeson County, North Carolina, where he excelled in the classroom and the athletic arena during his prep days at Former Pembroke High School, Pembroke High School, in Pembroke, North Carolina. Sampson was captain of his high school basketball team for two years, and played for his father John W. "Ned" Sampson. His father was also one of the 500 Lumbee Native Americans who made national news by driving the Ku Klux Klan out of Maxton, North Carolina in what is annually celebrated by the Lumbee as the Battle of Hayes Pond. 2017–18 Cincinnati Bearcats Men's Basketball Team
The 2017–18 Cincinnati Bearcats men's basketball team represented the University of Cincinnati in the 2017–18 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The team played its home games at the BB&T Arena on the campus of Northern Kentucky University in Highland Heights, Kentucky due to renovations at their home arena, Fifth Third Arena. The Bearcats were led by 12th-year head coach Mick Cronin and are members of the American Athletic Conference. They finished the season 31–5, 16–2 in AAC play to win the regular season championship. They defeated SMU, Memphis, and Houston to win the AAC tournament and received the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. Rob Gray (basketball)
Robert Dejuan Gray Jr. (born April 3, 1994) is an American professional basketball player for Tofaş of Basketbol Süper Ligi (BSL) and Basketball Champions League. He is a point guard and played collegiately at the University of Houston. He transferred from Howard College. Early life Gray played at East Rutherford High School as a sophomore, averaging 22.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game. He transferred to Christ School and led the team to a 32–5 record and averaged 11.3 points per game as a junior. Gray finished up his prep school career at West Oaks Academy in Florida. Buffalo Bulls Men's Basketball
The Buffalo Bulls men's basketball team represents the University at Buffalo in Buffalo, New York, United States. The team currently competes in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at the Division I level as a member of the Mid-American Conference (MAC) East Division. Buffalo began play in 1915 and joined the MAC in 1998. They won their first MAC East Division title in 2009, and won a third MAC East Division title in 2015 along with their first outright MAC Regular-Season championship and first MAC Tournament title to earn the program's first bid to the NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament. Devin Davis (born March 29, 1995) is an American professional basketball player for Scagliera Verona of the Italian LBA. He played college basketball for Indiana, Odessa College and Houston. High school career Davis attended Warren Central High School in Indianapolis, Indiana. College career Davis began his collegiate career at Indiana. He was involved in a serious car accident that left him hospitalized in November 2014. In May 2015, he was dismissed from Indiana after being cited for possession of marijuana.
