2018–19 Feldhockey-Bundesliga
The 2018–19 Bundesliga was the 77th season of the Bundesliga, Germany's highest field hockey league. It began on 25 August 2019 and it concluded with the championship final on 19 May 2019 in Krefeld. Uhlenhorst Mülheim were the defending champions, and won their 18th Bundesliga title by defeating Mannheimer HC 5–4 in the final. Teams Twelve teams competed in the league – the top ten teams from the previous season and the two teams promoted from the 2. Bundesliga. The promoted teams were Hamburger Polo Club and Blau-Weiss Berlin, who replaced TSV Mannheim and Münchner SC. Feldhockey Bundesliga (Men's Field Hockey)
The Feldhockey Bundesliga is the top level of men's field hockey in Germany and is managed by the German Hockey Federation. The league currently ranks first in the men's European league rankings. It was established in 1937. Format The season starts in August or September and is interrupted by the indoor hockey season from November to March. From April the outdoor season will be continued. Since the 2011–12 season the league was played by twelve teams who played each other twice and who competed for four spots in the championship play-offs. The number one and four and the number two and three played each other in the semi-final and winners qualified for the final where the winner was crowned champion. The two last-placed teams were relegated to the 2nd Bundesliga. For the 2019–20 season the German Hockey Federation introduced a new format. The Hamburger Polo Club is a sports club in Hamburg, Germany, founded in 1898. The club participates in polo, field hockey, and tennis. The club's men's field hockey team is a member of Feldhockey Bundesliga, the top level professional men's field hockey league in Germany.
