Danish Women's Handball League
The Danish Women's Handball League ( da, Damehåndboldligaen) is the top professional league for Denmark, Danish women's Team handball, handball clubs. It is administered by the Danish Handball Federation, and the winners are recognized as Danish champions. The league is officially called Bambusa Kvindeligaen for sponsorship reasons. It has previously been known as HTH GO Ligaen, Primo Tours Ligaen, Boxer Dameligaen, TOMS Ligaen and GuldBageren Ligaen. The current title holder is Odense Håndbold (2022). The European Handball Federation (EHF) ranks the Danish league 4th in the coefficients of leagues based on performances in European competitions over the past seasons. Competition format The Danish Women's Handball League shares the season style with the Danish Handball League, men's league. It consists of 14 teams, each playing 26 regular season games. Handball
Handball (also known as team handball, European handball or Olympic handball) is a team sport in which two teams of seven players each (six outcourt players and a goalkeeper) pass a ball using their hands with the aim of throwing it into the goal of the other team. A standard match consists of two periods of 30 minutes, and the team that scores more goals wins. Modern handball is played on a court of , with a goal in the middle of each end. The goals are surrounded by a zone where only the defending goalkeeper is allowed; goals must be scored by throwing the ball from outside the zone or while "diving" into it. Nørresundby Idrætscenter
Nørresundby () is a city in Aalborg Municipality, north of Limfjorden, in Vendsyssel, in Denmark. The urban area has a population of 23,718 (1 January 2021). It is located just north of Aalborg, which lies south of Limfjorden. Statistically its own urban area since 2006, it is often still considered part of Aalborg, sometimes the name Greater Aalborg (''Stor-Aalborg'') is used to describe the concept. Ceres Arena
Ceres Arena (formerly NRGi Arena) is an indoor arena mainly used for handball matches and public events in Aarhus, Denmark. The arena was opened in 2001 and has a capacity of 5,001 spectators (4,394 seats). It is part of the Aarhus Sports Park, which also includes Aarhus Stadium. Ceres Arena is home to Danish Women's Handball League team Aarhus United and Danish Men's Handball League team Skanderborg Aarhus Håndbold. Viborg HK (Viborg Håndbold Klub) is the name of a Danish handball club from Viborg. The club has many teams for both women and men, but especially the professional women's team is one of the most successful in Danish and European handball since the beginning of the 1990s. Randers HK
Randers HK was a women's handball club based in Randers, Denmark. They competed in the Bambusa Kvindeligaen and played their home matches in Arena Randers. In November 2022, the club decided to declare itself bankrupt after failing to raise over DKK 5 million. The club was then withdrawn from the league, with immediately effect. History Randers HK was founded in 1996 as a collaborative effort between several smaller clubs from the Randers Municipality to create a handball team that could represent the region at top level. In 2000, they reached the final of the Women's EHF Challenge Cup. The season 2009/2010 was the greatest from the history of the club, Randers HK finishing runner-up in the domestic championship GuldBageren Ligaen and winning the Women's EHF Cup.
