2018–19 Columbus Blue Jackets Season
The 2018–19 Columbus Blue Jackets season was the List of Columbus Blue Jackets seasons, 19th season for the National Hockey League franchise that was established on June 25, 1997. On April 5, 2019, the Blue Jackets clinched a playoff spot after a 3–2 shootout win over the 2018–19 New York Rangers season, New York Rangers. The Blue Jackets won their first ever playoff series by sweeping the Presidents' Trophy winners, the 2018–19 Tampa Bay Lightning season, Tampa Bay Lightning, in the First Round of the playoffs. However, the Blue Jackets were not able to carry their success into the Second Round, and they were eliminated by the 2018–19 Boston Bruins season, Boston Bruins in six games. Metropolitan Division
The National Hockey League's Metropolitan Division (often referred to simply as the "Metro Division") was formed in 2013 as one of the two divisions in the Eastern Conference (NHL), Eastern Conference as part of a league realignment. It is also a successor of the original Atlantic Division (NHL, 1993–2013), Atlantic Division and one of the two successors to the Southeast Division (NHL), Southeast Division. The 2018–19 Colorado Avalanche season was the 24th operational season and 23rd playing season since the franchise relocated from Quebec prior to the start of the 1995–96 NHL season. As well as the franchise's 40th season in the National Hockey League and 47th season overall. On April 4, 2019, the Avalanche clinched a playoff spot after a 3–2 overtime win against the Winnipeg Jets. In the playoffs, the Avalanche defeated the Calgary Flames 4–1 in the First Round to secure their first playoff series win since 2008. Clinton (or ''Ka-dah-wis-dag'', "white field" in Seneca language) is a village in Oneida County, New York, United States. The population was 1,942 at the 2010 census. It was named for George Clinton, the first Governor of New York. The Village of Clinton, site of Hamilton College, is within the Town of Kirkland. Clinton Arena, also known as Edward W. Stanley Recreation Center, is an indoor arena in Clinton ( Oneida County), New York, United States, that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Description Built in 1948-49, the arena burned down on September 11, 1953. It was then rebuilt in 1954. It is built of concrete block and is two stories high. Joonas Korpisalo (; born 28 April 1994) is a Finnish professional ice hockey goaltender for the Columbus Blue Jackets of the National Hockey League (NHL). Playing career He was selected by the Blue Jackets in the third round (62nd overall) of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. Brad Thiessen (born March 19, 1986) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey goaltender who played briefly in the National Hockey League (NHL) with the Pittsburgh Penguins. Thiessen played three seasons in the British Columbia Hockey League before playing three seasons of collegiate ice hockey at Northeastern University.
