2018–19 Charlotte 49ers Men's Basketball Team
The 2018–19 Charlotte 49ers men's basketball team represented the University of North Carolina at Charlotte during the 2018–19 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The 49ers, led by first year head coach Ron Sanchez, played their home games at the Dale F. Halton Arena as members Conference USA. Previous season The 49ers finished the 2017–18 season 6–23, 2–16 in C-USA play to finish in last place. They failed to qualify for the C-USA tournament. On December 14, 2017, head coach Mark Price was fired after a 3–6 start to the season and was replaced by Fancher. Houston Fancher was named interim coach for the remainder of the season. On March 6, 2018, new athletic director Mike Hill fired Fancher. On March 19, 2018, the school hired Virginia associate head coach Ron Sanchez as their new head coach. Ron Sanchez
Ron Sanchez is a Dominican college basketball coach who is the associate head coach for the Virginia Cavaliers men's basketball team. He was most recently the head coach at Charlotte 49ers men's basketball, Charlotte from 2018 until his resignation on June 6, 2023. Playing career Sanchez played collegiately at State University of New York at Oneonta, SUNY Oneonta where he was a two-time State University of New York Athletic Conference, SUNYAC all-conference selection, and SUNYAC Player of the Year for the 1995-96 season. He was inducted into the Red Dragons' athletic hall of fame in 2007. Coaching career After graduation, Sanchez assisted his alma mater for three seasons, before taking an assistant coaching position at State University of New York at Delhi, SUNY Delhi from 1999 to 2001. South Mecklenburg High School is a public secondary school located in Charlotte, North Carolina. It is part of the Charlotte Mecklenburg School District. Scott County High School is a public high school in Georgetown, Kentucky, United States. The mascot is a Cardinal. School colors are Red and Blue, with white and black occasionally serving as secondary colors. Upper Marlboro, officially the Town of Upper Marlboro, is the seat of Prince George's County, Maryland. Aso of the 2020 census, the population was 652. although Greater Upper Marlboro is many times larger. Etymology Upper Marlboro was established in 1706 as "Marlborough Town", after John Churchill, 1st Duke of Marlborough. In 1744, the town was renamed to "Upper Marlborough".
