2018–19 Botola
The 2018–19 Botola, also known as Botola Maroc Telecom for sponsorship reasons, is the 62nd season of the Premier League and the 8th under its new format of Moroccan Pro League, the top Moroccan professional league for association football clubs, since its establishment in 1956. The season started on 25 August 2018 and ended on 15 May 2019. IR Tanger came into the season as defending champions of the 2017–18 season. Botola
The Botola Pro ( ar, البطولة الاحترافية, translit=al-buṭūla l-iḥtirāfiyya), is a Moroccan professional league for men's association football clubs. At the top of the Moroccan football league system, it is the country's primary football competition. Contested by 16 clubs, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Botola 2. Seasons run from August to May, with teams playing 30 matches each (playing each team in the league twice, home and away) totaling 240 matches in the season. Most games are played in the afternoons of Saturdays and Sundays, the other games during weekday evenings. It is sponsored by Inwi and thus known as the Botola Pro Inwi. Mouloudia Club of Oujda ( ar, مولودية وجدة), commonly abbreviated to MC Oudja, is a Moroccan football club based in Oujda. Mouloudia, which closely translates to "birth" in Arabic, was named after the coincidence of the day of its creation: on March 16, 1946 (12 second spring of 1365 Hjeria) with the anniversary of the birth of Muhammad. Businessman Mohamed Houar became president of the club in 2017, and his investment led to a 2017–18 Botola 2 title followed by strong performances in the Botola the following seasons. However, the club faced a crisis in 2021 when Houar announced he was leaving the club, with players and staff striking over unpaid wages. Stade Moulay Abdellah
Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium ( ar, المجمع الرياضي الأمير مولاي عبد الله) is a multi-purpose stadium in Rabat, Morocco. It is named after Prince Moulay Abdellah of Morocco. It was built in 1983 and is the home ground of AS FAR. It is currently used mostly for football matches and it can also stage athletics. The stadium has an occupancy of 45,800 people. Since 2008 it has hosted the Meeting International Mohammed VI d'Athlétisme de Rabat. It was a confirmed venue for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations until Morocco was stripped of its hosting rights. Morocco asked for the Africa Cup of Nations to be postponed because of fear of the Ebola pandemic that was affecting several African countries at the time.
