Yelgun, New South Wales
Yelgun is a small valley in Byron Shire, Northern New South Wales, Australia. Farmers grow bananas, mangoes, passionfruit and papaya. Australia In The Eurovision Song Contest 2018
Australia participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 with the song "We Got Love" written by Anthony Egizii, David Musumeci and Jessica Mauboy. The song was performed by Jessica Mauboy, who was internally selected by the Australian broadcaster Special Broadcasting Service (SBS) to represent that nation at the 2018 contest in Lisbon, Portugal. Mauboy was announced as the Australian representative on 11 December 2017. The song Mauboy performed, "We Got Love", was presented to the public on 8 March 2018. Conway Savage
Conway Victor Savage (27 July 1960 – 2 September 2018) was an Australian rock musician. He was a member of Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds, providing piano, organ & backing vocals from 1990–2017. Savage released solo albums entitled ''Nothing Broken'' (2000) & ''Wrong Man's Hands'' (2004) as well as a compilation called ''Rare Songs & Performances 1989–2004''. He also collaborated with other artists such as Suzie Higgie for ''Soon Will Be Tomorrow'' in 1998 & "Quickie For Ducky" by Amanda Fox & Robert Tickner in 2007. Phil Emmanuel
Phillip Ernest Emmanuel (6 July 1952 – 24 May 2018) was an Australian guitar player who found fame with The Trailblazers, and as the older brother of musician Tommy Emmanuel. He played with many other Australian artists including INXS, Jimmy Barnes, John Farnham, Ian Moss, composer Pete Hawkes and Slim Dusty, as well as playing with many international artists such as British guitarist Hank B. Marvin and American performers Chet Atkins, Willie Nelson, Duane Eddy and Dolly Parton. His debut album, ''Kakadu Sunrise'', reached No. 33 on the New Zealand album charts. In 1994 Phil and Tommy Emmanuel released the album '' Terra Firma'' and it was nominated for the 1995 ARIA Award for Best Adult Contemporary Album. In 2011, Emmanuel was inducted into the Australian Roll of Renown. Paul Gray (songwriter)
Paul Francis Gray (28 November 1963 – 24 April 2018) was an Australian songwriter, pianist, singer and record producer. He met with early success as the lead vocalist for the 1980s funk/pop band Wa Wa Nee. After the disbanding of Wa Wa Nee, Gray concentrated on work as a keyboard player, musical director, songwriter and producer. He worked with many highly successful Australian artists, including Tina Arena, Kate Ceberano and Bardot. Gray appeared in the Countdown Spectacular 2 concert series in Australia between late August and early September 2007 as a performer and musical director. He sang two songs: "Stimulation" and "Sugar Free". In 2012, Gray appeared on an episode of ''Myf Warhurst’s Nice'', singing a duet of " Islands in the Stream" with Warhurst. Jeff St John (born Jeffrey Leo Newton; 22 April 1946 – 6 March 2018), was an Australian musician best known for several Australian hits, such as "Teach Me How to Fly" (1970), "Big Time Operator" (1967) and "A Fool in Love" (1977). Vampire Weekend is an American rock band from New York City, formed in 2006 and currently signed to Columbia Records.
