2018 West Georgia Wolves Football Team
The 2018 West Georgia Wolves football team will represent the University of West Georgia in the 2018 NCAA Division II football season. They will be led by second-year head coach David Dean. The Wolves will play their home games at University Stadium and were members of the Gulf South Conference. Schedule West Georgia 2018 football schedule consists of six home and five away games in the regular season. The Wolves will host GSC foes Florida Tech, West Alabama, Delta State, and North Greenville, and will travel to Mississippi College, and Shorter, Valdosta State, and West Florida. David Dean
David Dean (born February 3, 1964) is an American college football coach and former player. He was the head football coach for the University of West Georgia from 2017 to 2023. Dean served as the head football coach at Valdosta State University from 2007 to 2015, compiling a record of 79–27 in nine seasons. His team won the NCAA Division II Football Championship in 2007 and in 2012. Playing career Dean attended Avondale High School (DeKalb County, Georgia), Avondale High School in Avondale Estates, Georgia before Walk-on (sports), walking on for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets football, Georgia Tech football team in 1982. Barron Stadium is a 6,500-seat football field and track & field stadium in Rome, Georgia. It is home to the Shorter University Hawks and Rome High School Wolves football teams. The facility hosted the NAIA Football National Championship from 2008-13 and the NCCAA Victory Bowl in 2013-14, as well as the NCCAA track championships from 2014-16.
