The 2018 Wagner Seahawks football team represented Wagner College in the 2018 NCAA Division I FCS football season as a member of the Northeast Conference (NEC). They were led by fourth-year head coach Jason Houghtaling and played their home games at Wagner College Stadium. Wagner finished the season 4–7 overall and 3–3 in NEC play to place fourth. Northeast Conference
The Northeast Conference (NEC) is a collegiate athletic conference whose schools are members of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). Teams in the NEC compete in Division I for all sports; football competes in the Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS). Participating schools are located principally in the Northeastern United States, from which the conference derives its name. Smithfield, Rhode Island
Smithfield is a town that is located in Providence County, Rhode Island, United States. It includes the historic villages of Esmond, Georgiaville, Mountaindale, Hanton City, Stillwater and Greenville. The population was 22,118 at the 2020 census. Smithfield is the home of Bryant University, a private four year college. Beirne Stadium
Beirne Stadium is a stadium in Smithfield, Rhode Island. It is the home stadium for the Bryant University college football and men's and women's lacrosse programs. Beirne Stadium will also host USL Championship club Rhode Island FC during their inaugural 2024 season. The stadium holds 4,400 people and was built in 1999. It was renamed from Bulldog Stadium on September 24, 2016. It has also hosted numerous events for Rhode Island High School State Championships. The centerpiece of Bryant University's athletic facilities, Beirne Stadium opened in 1999 as Bulldog Stadium to coincide with the varsity debut of Bryant football. 2018 Bryant Bulldogs Football Team
The 2018 Bryant Bulldogs football team represented Bryant University as a member of the Northeast Conference (NEC) during the 2018 NCAA Division I FCS football season. Led James Perry in his second and final season as head coach, the Bulldogs compiled an overall record of 6–5 with a mark of 2–4 in conference play, tying for fifth place in the NEC. Bryant played home games at Beirne Stadium in Smithfield, Rhode Island. On December 3, Perry resigned to become the head football coach at Brown University. The 2018 Duquesne Dukes football team represented Duquesne University in the 2018 NCAA Division I FCS football season. They were led by 14th-year head coach Jerry Schmitt and played their home games at Arthur J. Rooney Athletic Field. They played as a member of the Northeast Conference. They finished the season 9–4, 5–1 in NEC play to be NEC co-champions with Sacred Heart. Arute Field
Arute Field is a 5,500-seat multi-purpose stadium in New Britain, Connecticut, United States. It is home to the Central Connecticut State University Blue Devils Football and Men's and Women's Lacrosse teams. The first incarnation of Arute Field was on land now occupied by the Elihu Burritt Library. The field was moved to its current location in the late 1960s. Jack Arute Sr., the owner of what was then one of the state's largest construction businesses, built the first field to bear his family's name. The second incarnation of the stadium was built in 1970 and demolished in 1998. The third and current version of the stadium was built on the same site of the second one, and opened in November 2000.
