2018 Volta A Catalunya
The 2018 Volta a Catalunya was a road cycling stage race that took place between 19 and 25 March 2018 in Spain. It was the 98th edition of the Volta a Catalunya and the ninth event of the 2018 UCI World Tour. For the second year in a row, and for the third time in his career, the race was won by rider Alejandro Valverde. Valverde won the second and fourth stages during the race, taking the race lead – and the mountains jersey as well – for good after his second stage victory. He finished 29 seconds clear of his nearest rival, team-mate Nairo Quintana, after Quintana's Colombian compatriot Egan Bernal () crashed out of the race on the final day. The podium was completed by 's Pierre Latour, a further 18 seconds in arrears of Quintana; Bernal's withdrawal also allowed Latour to claim the young rider classification. 2018 UCI World Tour
The 2018 UCI World Tour was a competition that included thirty-seven road cycling events throughout the 2018 men's cycling season. It was the tenth and final edition of the ranking system launched by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) in 2009. The competition began with the opening stage of the Tour Down Under on 16 January and concluded with the final stage of the Tour of Guangxi on 21 October. Belgium's Greg Van Avermaet was the defending champion. Summary Van Avermaet was unable to defend his World Tour title, as he failed to take a single individual win – he was a part of three team time trial victories for the however – as he finished fifth in the points rankings. Vallter 2000
Vallter 2000 is a ski resort located in the eastern Pyrenees close to Setcases, Girona, Catalonia (Spain). It is located near the river source of the Ter River, surrounded by Bastiments, Gra de Fajol and Pic de la Dona. The ski area ranges between 2000 metres and 2535 metres in altitude, although the main buildings are located at an elevation of 2200 meters. Besides alpine skiing, the area is also popular for a range of off-mountain activities, including backcountry skiing, snowshoeing, ice climbing, and hiking. Career Born in Sint-Niklaas, De Gendt won the opening stage of the 2011 Paris–Nice and also won stage 7 of the 2011 Tour de Suisse. Valls () is a city and municipality in the province of Tarragona in Catalonia, Spain. According to the 2014 census it has a population of 24,570. La Pobla De Segur
La Pobla de Segur is a municipality located in the comarca of Pallars Jussà, province of Lleida, Catalonia, in northern Spain. According to the 2013 census (INE), the town has a population of 3,073 inhabitants. It is situated at the confluence of the Flamicell and Noguera Pallaresa rivers in the north of the ''comarca'', above the Sant Antoni reservoir.
