2018 UCI America Tour
The 2018 UCI America Tour is the fourteenth season of the UCI America Tour. The season began on October 23, 2017, with the Vuelta a Guatemala and ended on August 19, 2018. The points leader, based on the cumulative results of previous races, wears the UCI America Tour cycling jersey. Throughout the season, points are awarded to the top finishers of stages within stage races and the final general classification standings of each of the stages races and one-day events. The quality and complexity of a race also determines how many points are awarded to the top finishers, the higher the UCI rating of a race, the more points are awarded. Keegan Swirbul (born September 2, 1995) is an American cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Continental team . He formerly rode for UCI ProTeam . He is the older brother of cross-country skier Hailey Swirbul. Career In 2017 and 2018, Swirbul rode for , until the team folded at the end of 2018. Hugh John Carthy (born 9 July 1994) is a British professional road racing cyclist who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . Carthy's nickname "Huge" was coined when his name was mispronounced by an announcer in the Giro d'Italia, but stuck due to his ability to produce huge efforts and dig deep. Career Born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Albuquerque, New Mexico, United States, Bookwalter was a member of the Lees–McRae College (Banner Elk, NC) cycling team from 2003–2006. While a member they won 7 national titles as a team and Bookwalter won nine individual national titles in Mountain Bike, Road and Cyclo-Cross disciplines. Park City is a city in Utah, United States. The vast majority is in Summit County, and it extends into Wasatch County. It is considered to be part of the Wasatch Back. The city is southeast of downtown Salt Lake City and from Salt Lake City's east edge of Sugar House along Interstate 80. The population was 8,396 at the 2020 census. Snowbird, Utah
Snowbird is an unincorporated community in Little Cottonwood Canyon in the Wasatch Range of the Rocky Mountains near Salt Lake City, Utah, United States. It is most famous for Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort, an alpine skiing and snowboarding area, which opened in December 1971. History The development of Little Cottonwood Canyon and the town of Alta dates to the 19th Century. A U.S. Army soldier first prospected for silver there in 1869. Mining became a large local industry, and Little Cottonwood Canyon became one of the largest producers of silver ore in the Wasatch Mountains. Known as the Emma Mine (the origin of the name of the Big Emma ski run in Snowbird's Gad Valley), the soldier's find eventually produced more than $3.8 million in silver. Canyons Resort
Canyons Resort was one of three alpine ski resorts located in Park City, Utah. Prior to 2015, there were 19 chairlifts, of skiable terrain and an average of of snow each winter, making Canyons the largest ski and snowboard resort in Utah. The base area is located 32 miles (51 km) from the Salt Lake City International Airport, accessed via Interstate 80, and is four miles (7 km) from Main Street in Park City, along State Route 224. In the summer of 2010, Canyons was significantly upgraded by Talisker Corporation in order to compete with the other nearby resorts. In 2013, Talisker and Vail Resorts signed a 50-year lease for Vail to run the resort operations.
