Taça 12 de Novembro is an annual knockout association football competition in men's domestic Timor football. This competition was organised by Liga Futebol Amadora and FFTL. Competition format Beginning in August, the competition proceeds as a knockout tournament throughout, consisting of three rounds, a semi-final and then a final, in September. Qualification for subsequent competitions Super Taça Liga Futebol Amadora The Taça 12 de Novembro winners qualify for the following season's single-match Super Taça Liga Futebol Amadora, the traditional season opener played against the previous season's Liga Futebol Amadora champions (or the Liga Futebol Amadora runners-up if the Taça 12 de Novembro winners also won the league – the double). Dili (Portuguese/Tetum: ''Díli'') is the capital, largest city of East Timor and the second largest city in Timor islands after Kupang (Indonesia). History Originally the club formed in 1986 when Pedro Carrascalão was a high school student during the period when East Timor was still under Indonesian occupation. Fitun Estudante Lorosae (in Tetum mean ''Star students of the east''), commonly known as FIEL is an East Timorese football club based in Dili. The team plays in the Liga Futebol Amadora. AS Ponta Leste is a football club based in Dili, East Timor. The team plays in the Liga Futebol Amadora in the Primeira Divisão. The club's most successful season came in 2016 in which the team won the 2016 Taça 12 de Novembro after beating Assalam FC 1-0 in the final, as well as the Super Taça which they won against league champions Benfica Laulara 2-1.
