2018 São Paulo FC Season
The 2018 season was São Paulo's 89th year since the club's existence. Due previous year playing for remaining in first division of national league, the club started his performance at state league, Campeonato Paulista, mistrusted by his own fans and media. The head coach Dorival Júnior was fired after 5 losses in only 14 matches, being defeated by all main rivals in just a month. To replace Dorival, São Paulo selected the Uruguayan Diego Aguirre, a former forward who was in the club for a short period of time in 1990. Despite the elimination in the semifinals of Campeonato Paulista and second round of Copa Sudamericana, Aguirre did a consistent job in the early months leading the team. In the first half of league São Paulo ended in first place holding its performance for 8 rounds at the middle of competition. Gonzalo Rodrigo Carneiro Méndez (born 12 September 1995) is an Uruguayan professional footballer who plays as a forward for Swiss Super League club Sion. Everton Felipe de Oliveira Silva (born 28 July 1997), known as Everton Felipe, is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder for Retrô. Club career Sport Born in Limoeiro, Pernambuco, Everton Felipe joined Sport's youth setup in 2011, aged 13. Edimar Curitiba Fraga (born 21 May 1986), simply known as Edimar, is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays as a left-back for Vasco da Gama. Club career Born in Iconha, Espírito Santo, Edimar joined Cruzeiro's youth setup in 2003, aged 16, after starting it out at Cachoeiro. In 2006, he was loaned to Guarani, but only appeared in one match during the whole campaign. Reinaldo Manoel da Silva (born 28 September 1989), simply known as Reinaldo, is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays as a left-back for Grêmio. Sidney Aparecido Ramos da Silva (born 24 December 1982), commonly known as Sidão, is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper. Club career Born in São Paulo, Sidão was a Corinthians youth graduate. Joao Robin Rojas Mendoza (; born 14 June 1989) is an Ecuadorian professional footballer who plays as a winger for Deportivo Garcilaso. He also holds Mexican citizenship. Anderson Luiz de Carvalho (born 19 July 1981), known as Nenê, is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays for Vasco da Gama.
