2018 Syracuse Orange Men's Soccer Team
The 2018 Syracuse Orange men's soccer team represented Syracuse University during the 2018 NCAA Division I men's soccer season. It was the program's 95th season and 6th in the Atlantic Coast Conference. The Syracuse Orange, Orange were led by Ian McIntyre (soccer), Ian McIntyre, who was in his ninth year. Background The 2017 Syracuse men's soccer team finished the season with a 6–8–4 overall record and a 0–6–2 ACC record. The Orange were seeded twelfth–overall in the 2017 ACC Men's Soccer Tournament, where they lost to 2017 Clemson Tigers men's soccer team, Clemson in the first round. The Orange were not invited to the 2017 NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Tournament. At the end of the 2017 season, one Orange men's soccer player was selected in the 2018 MLS SuperDraft: Mo Adams. Ian McIntyre (soccer)
Ian McIntyre (born 1972) is the coach of the Syracuse Orange men's soccer team. He previously coached at Oneonta and Hartwick. Early life McIntyre grew up in Basildon, England and played for an Arsenal FC youth team. Playing career McIntyre was a sweeper for the Hartwick Hawks from 1992–1995. The team had a 50–20–7 record during his four seasons as a player. The team also made 2 NCAA Tournament berths and a 52-20-7 record during his four seasons. McIntyre was named to the NSCAA All-American First Team in 1995. In that same year, he was named the Hartwick Male Athlete of the Year. He was inducted into the Hartwick College Athletic Hall of Fame in 2001, his first year of eligibility. The Villanova Wildcats are the athletic teams of Villanova University. They compete in the Big East (NCAA Division I) for every sport; except football and rowing where they compete in the Colonial Athletic Association ( Football Championship Subdivision, formerly Division I-AA). Canisius Golden Griffins
The Canisius College Golden Griffins are composed of 16 teams representing Canisius College in intercollegiate athletics. These teams include men's and women's basketball, cross country, track, lacrosse, soccer, and swimming and diving. Men's sports include baseball, ice hockey, and golf. Women's sports include volleyball, soccer, and softball. The Golden Griffins compete in the NCAA Division I and are members of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) for most sports, excluding men's ice hockey which competes in Atlantic Hockey. Ian McIntyre
Ian McIntyre (9 December 1931 – 19 April 2014) was a British BBC Radio producer, journalist, broadcaster and author. who was Controller of BBC Radio 4 from 1976 to 1978 and then Controller of BBC Radio 3 between 1978 and 1987. John Wildhack
John Wildhack (born October 23, 1958) is the 11th director of athletics at Syracuse University. Prior to this position, Wildhack was the executive vice president for programming and production at ESPN, where he had worked for 36 years. Career ESPN Wildhack career at ESPN spanned 36 years, in which he held a number of leadership roles. He started at ESPN in 1980 as a production assistant and steadily rose through the ranks to become the executive vice president for programming and production in 2014. In his role as executive vice president, Wildhack was responsible for 50,000 hours of content annually and reported directly to ESPN President John Skipper. Ryan Raposo
Ryan Raposo (born March 5, 1999) is a Canadian professional soccer player who plays as a wingback for Vancouver Whitecaps FC in Major League Soccer. Youth Born in Hamilton to a Portuguese father and Chinese mother, Raposo began playing soccer at a young age, making his first competitive rep team when he was eight with Mount Hamilton SC. Tajon Buchanan
Tajon Trevor Buchanan (born February 8, 1999) is a Canadian professional soccer player who plays as a winger for Belgian Pro League side Club Brugge and the Canada national team. Simon Triantafillou (born August 25, 1999) is a Canadian soccer player who plays for Burlington SC in League1 Ontario. Early life Triantafillou joined the youth system of Sigma FC at age 11.
