2018 Summit League Men's Basketball Tournament
The 2018 Summit League men's basketball tournament was the postseason men's basketball tournament for the Summit League for the 2017–18 season. All tournament games were played at the Denny Sanford Premier Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, from March 3–6, 2018. Regular season champion South Dakota State defeated South Dakota in the championship game to win the tournament and receive the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. Seeds All eight teams in the Summit League were eligible to compete in the conference tournament. Teams were seeded by record within the conference, with a tiebreaker system to seed teams with identical conference records. Schedule and results Bracket * indicates overtime period. Denny Sanford Premier Center
The Denny Sanford Premier Center is an indoor arena in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The building is located at 1201 North West Avenue, and is connected to the Sioux Falls Arena and Sioux Falls Convention Center. The Arena's naming rights partners, and largest sponsors, are Sanford Health, First Premier Bank and Premier Bankcard. Completed in 2014, the arena has a seating capacity of approximately 12,000 spectators and replaces the DakotaDome and Rushmore Plaza Civic Center as the largest indoor venue in South Dakota. 2017–18 Fort Wayne Mastodons Men's Basketball Team
The 2017–18 Fort Wayne Mastodons men's basketball team represented Indiana University – Purdue University Fort Wayne during the 2017–18 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Mastodons were led by fourth-year head coach Jon Coffman and played their home games at the Gates Sports Center and the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum as members of the Summit League. They finished the season 18–15, 7–7 in Summit League play to finish in fourth place. Summit League Men's Basketball Tournament
The Summit League men's basketball tournament is the post-season tournament for NCAA Division I conference Summit League. The winner of the tournament receives the Summit League's automatic bid into the NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championship. The tournament was first played in 1984, when the league was known as the Association of Mid-Continent Universities (AMCU). The league was also known as the Mid-Continent Conference from 1989 to 2007, after which it was renamed to The Summit League. Format Currently, the top 8 men's basketball teams in the Summit League receive a berth in the conference tournament (barring NCAA sanctions).
