2018 South American Under-20 Futsal Championship
The 2018 South American Under-20 Futsal Championship is the 8th edition of the South American Under-20 Futsal Championship ( es, CONMEBOL Sudamericano Sub-20 de Futsal), the biennial international youth futsal championship organised by the CONMEBOL for the men's under-20 national teams of South America. The tournament is held in Lima, Peru between 4–11 November 2018. A single-elimination, knockout, or sudden death tournament is a type of elimination tournament where the loser of each match-up is immediately eliminated from the tournament. Each winner will play another in the next round, until the final match-up, whose winner becomes the tournament champion. Futsal Competitions In South America
Futsal is a football-based game played on a hard court smaller than a football pitch, and mainly indoors. It has similarities to five-a-side football and indoor football. Futsal is played between two teams of five players each, one of whom is the goalkeeper. Unlimited substitutions are permitted. Unlike some other forms of indoor soccer, it is played on a hard court surface marked by lines; walls or boards are not used. It is played with a smaller, harder, lower-bounce ball than football. The surface, ball and rules favour ball control and passing in small spaces. The game emphasizes control, improvisation, creativity and technique. The Peruvian Football Federation ( es, Federación Peruana de Futbol or ) is the body that governs Association football in Peru. It was founded on August 23, 1922, and affiliated in 1924.
