2018 Philadelphia Eagles Season
The 2018 season was the Philadelphia Eagles' 86th season in the National Football League and their third under head coach Doug Pederson. The Eagles entered the season as the defending champions of Super Bowl LII, when they defeated the previous defending Super Bowl champion New England Patriots 41–33 and attempted to become the first team since the 2004 New England Patriots to repeat as Super Bowl Champions. They opened the season with the NFL Kickoff Game on September 6, beating the Atlanta Falcons 18–12. The National Football Conference – Eastern Division or NFC East is one of the four Division (sport), divisions of the National Football Conference (NFC) in the National Football League (NFL). Rodney McLeod
Rodney McLeod Jr. (born June 23, 1990) is an American football safety for the Indianapolis Colts of the National Football League (NFL). McLeod played college football at Virginia and signed with the St. Louis Rams as an undrafted free agent in 2012. He has also played for the Philadelphia Eagles, and won a Super Bowl with them in 2017. Nick Foles
Nicholas Edward Foles (born January 20, 1989) is an American football quarterback for the Indianapolis Colts of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Arizona and was selected in the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft by the Philadelphia Eagles. Initially a backup, Foles was named the team's starter midway through his rookie season. He maintained his starting position through 2013, during which he set the NFL season record for the best touchdown–interception ratio and posted a perfect passer rating in a game. His success led the Eagles to a division title, while also earning him Pro Bowl honors. Carson James Wentz (born December 30, 1992) is an American football quarterback for the Washington Commanders of the National Football League (NFL). Wentz played college football at North Dakota State, where he won two consecutive NCAA FCS national championships as the team's starter. He was selected second overall by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2016 NFL Draft, making him the FCS's highest drafted player. Wentz's greatest success with the Eagles was in 2017 when he led them to an 11–2 record. Patrick Robinson (cornerback)
Patrick Robinson (born September 7, 1987) is a former American football cornerback. He played college football at Florida State, and was drafted by the Saints in the first round of the 2010 NFL Draft. Robinson has also played for the San Diego Chargers, Indianapolis Colts and Philadelphia Eagles. Early years Robinson attended South Miami High School before attending Gulliver Preparatory School. He was a two-sport star in football and track. He played both defensive back and wide receiver. As a senior, he had 11 interceptions on defense and ten touchdowns on offense. Vinny Curry
Vincent Curry (born June 30, 1988) is an American football defensive end for the New York Jets of the National Football League (NFL). After playing college football for Marshall, he was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the second round of the 2012 NFL Draft, with whom he won Super Bowl LII. Curry wore number 75 with the Eagles out of respect for the 75 people lost in the crash of Southern Airways Flight 932, a Marshall football charter flight in 1970. The Philly Special (also known as Philly Philly) was an American football trick play between Philadelphia Eagles players Corey Clement, Trey Burton and Nick Foles on fourth- down-and-goal toward the end of the second quarter of Super Bowl LII on February 4, 2018. On the play, quarterback Foles moved up to behind his offensive line and Jason Kelce snapped the ball directly to running back Clement. Clement went on to pitch the ball to Burton, who passed the ball to a wide open Foles to score a touchdown; Foles thereby became the first player in Super Bowl history to both throw and catch a touchdown pass. Lawrence Godfrey "Trey" Burton III, (born October 29, 1991) is an American football tight end who is a free agent. He played college football for the University of Florida and was signed by the Philadelphia Eagles as an undrafted rookie free agent in 2014, and he won Super Bowl LII with the team in his final season with the Eagles, including helping execute the Philly Special. Burton also played for the Chicago Bears and the Indianapolis Colts. Early years Burton was born in Venice, Florida. 2018 Atlanta Falcons Season
The 2018 season was the Atlanta Falcons' 53rd in the National Football League, their second playing their home games at Mercedes-Benz Stadium (the venue for Super Bowl LIII) and their fourth under head coach Dan Quinn. NFL Kickoff Game
The National Football League Kickoff game, along with related festivities, marks the official start of the National Football League (NFL) regular season.
