2018 Pac-12 Conference Men's Soccer Season
The 2018 Pac-12 Conference men's soccer season was the 19th season of men's varsity soccer in the conference. The season began on August 24, 2018 and concluded on November 9, 2018. The four-time defending champions, Stanford, successfully defended their Pac-12 title. The Cardinal entered the NCAA Tournament as the three-time defending champions, but were eliminated by Akron in the quarterfinals. Joining Stanford in the tournament were Oregon State, Washington, and UCLA. Lev Kirshner
Lev Kirshner (born June 17, 1969) is the former head coach for the men's soccer team San Diego State University, who coached the team for two decades. As a player, he competed at the 1993 Maccabiah Games (winning a bronze medal) and the 1997 Maccabiah Games in Israel. Playing career High school and college Kirshner attended Mission San Jose High School in Fremont, California, where he played soccer and badminton, and ran cross country. He graduated in 1987 and was inducted into the school’s first Hall of Fame class in 2001. After graduating from high school, Kirshner attended Rutgers University, playing soccer for the school from 1987-90. He graduated in 1991 with a bachelor’s degree in communication with honors and as a member of the 1990 NCAA National Finalist team, the squad's members were inducted to the Rutgers Hall of Fame in 2015. The Stanford Cardinal men's soccer team represents Stanford University in all NCAA Division I men's college soccer competitions. The Cardinal play in the Pac-12 Conference. Their first season as a varsity program was in 1973. The Oregon State Beavers men's soccer team is an intercollegiate varsity sports team of Oregon State University and competes in the Pac-12 Conference of the National Collegiate Athletic Association. The team was founded in 1988 and has competed in 26 college soccer seasons since that time. Edwards Stadium (also referred to as Edwards Field) is the track and field and soccer venue for the California Golden Bears, the athletic teams of the University of California, Berkeley.
