2018 North Carolina Tar Heels Men's Soccer Team
The 2018 North Carolina Tar Heels men's soccer team represented the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill during the 2018 NCAA Division I men's soccer season. It was the 72nd season of the university fielding a program. The 2018 season saw North Carolina win the inaugural U.S. Soccer Spring Men's College Program. Fetzer Field was undergoing construction during the 2018 soccer season so the Tar Heels split their home matches between three stadiums:WakeMed Soccer Park, Bryan Park, and Koskinen Stadium. Carlos Somoano
Carlos Somoano is an American soccer coach, and is currently the head coach of the University of North Carolina men's soccer team. In his first season in charge of the Tar Heels, he led the team to the NCAA championship, becoming the second rookie head coach, after Mike Freitag, in NCAA history to do so. Education Somoano received a Bachelor of Science in biology (concentration in pre-medicine) from Eckerd College in 1992. He also earned four letters in soccer and was a two-year team captain. In 2000, he earned a Master's in Sport Management degree from the University of Richmond. Coaching career In 1992, he started his career as an assistant coach at his alma mater, Eckard College, and he spent four seasons there. 2018 MLS SuperDraft
The 2018 MLS SuperDraft was the nineteenth SuperDraft conducted by Major League Soccer. As customary, the SuperDraft was held in conjunction with the annual United Soccer Coaches convention. The 2018 UCS was held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania between January 17–21, 2018. Rounds one and two of the SuperDraft were held on January 19, 2018. Milo Garvanian (born January 17, 2000) is an American soccer player who currently plays for Chattanooga FC in MLS Next Pro. Career Youth Garvanian was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico and played with the Rio Rapids SC and played two games for USL PDL side Albuquerque Sol in 2016, but later moved to Denver, Colorado, where he attended George Washington High School. While at high school, Garvanian played club soccer with the Colorado Rapids academy.
