The 2018 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference women's basketball tournament was held March 1–5 at the Times Union Center in Albany, New York. Quinnipiac received an automatic trip to the 2018 Women's NCAA tournament. The MVP Arena (originally Knickerbocker Arena, and then the Pepsi Arena and Times Union Center) is an indoor arena located in Albany, New York. It is configurable and can accommodate from 6,000 to 17,500 people, with a maximum seating capacity of 15,500 for sporting events. The 2018 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference men's basketball tournament was the postseason men's basketball tournament for the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference for the 2017–18 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. It was held from March 1–5, 2018 at the Times Union Center in Albany, New York. No. 4 seed Iona defeated No. 6 seed Fairfield in the championship game to receive the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. This was Iona's third consecutive MAAC tournament championship, while also being their MAAC-record leading sixth straight championship game appearance. Seeds All 11 teams in the conference participated in the Tournament. The top five teams received byes to the quarterfinals. Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference
The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC, ) is a collegiate athletic conference affiliated with NCAA Division I. Of its current 11 full members, 10 are located in three states of the northeastern United States: Connecticut, New Jersey, and New York. The other member is in Maryland. Members are all relatively small private institutions, a majority Catholic or formerly Catholic, with the only exceptions being two secular institutions: Rider University and Quinnipiac University. The 2018 NCAA Division I women's basketball tournament began on March 16, 2018, and concluded with the national championship game on Sunday, April 1. The Final Four was played at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio. This is the third time that the women's Final Four was played in Ohio after previously being held in Cincinnati in 1997 and Cleveland in 2007 and the first time that the women's Final Four was played in Columbus.
