The women's discus throw at the 2018 IAAF World U20 Championships was held at Ratina Stadium on 10 and 12 July. Records Results Qualification The qualification round took place on 10 July in two groups, with Group A starting at 16:45 and Group B starting at 18:09. Estel Valeanu
Estel (also styled as ESTEL) was a steel company formed by the merging of Koninklijke Hoogovens IJmuiden steel plant and Hoesch's main steel plant in Dortmund. The company existed from 1972 to 1982 until de-merged. History In 1966 the board of Koninklijke Hoogovens voted in favour of merging their IJmuiden steelworks with the Dortmund plant of German steelmaker Hoesch; Hoesch would benefit from the IJmuiden steelwork's port, and Koninklijke Hoogovens' 43% shareholding in the Dortmund-Hörder Hüttenunion (DHHU) was converted into a 15% shareholding in Hoesch with Hoesch acquiring DHUU. Obiageri Pamela Amaechi (born March 12, 1999) is a Nigerian discus thrower who came third in the discus events at the 2022 Commonwealth Games and the 2022 African Championships in Athletics. She has competed for the Princeton Tigers in US college athletics. Personal life Amaechi is from San Francisco, US. Career In 2018, she won the ECAC/ IC4A Outdoor Championship discus event, competing for Princeton Tigers. As of 2022, she is the Ivy League record holder in discus, and had received All-America honors twice. She competed for the US at the 2018 IAAF World U20 Championships, where she finished 14th in the qualifying round, and did not qualify for the final. Amaechi made her debut for Nigeria at the 2022 African Championships in Athletics, finishing third in the discus event.
