2018 IAAF World Indoor Championships – Men's 1500 Metres
The men's 1500 metres at the 2018 IAAF World Indoor Championships took place on 3 and 4 March 2018. Summary Two disqualifications and three national records highlighted the heats. In the final, 2012 champion, Abdelaati Iguider jumped out to an early lead, with the American pair of Ben Blankenship and Craig Engels immediately behind him. The entire field jogged through the first 400 at warm up pace, 1:15.84. Blankenship found himself in the lead, looking around as if, "where is everybody?" At 600 metres, in 1:52.48, finally 18 year old Samuel Tefera came forward, the pace quickened slightly. He was joined by teammate Aman Wote and the pace began to get quicker, though still not 30 per lap pace. 800 metres in 2:23.68. Iguider came back to Tefera's shoulder, both speeding up to run a 28.49 lap, 1000 metres in 2:52.16. Blankenship held on to their back, Wote boxing him in on the outside. Arena Birmingham (known for sponsorship reasons as Utilita Arena Birmingham, and previously as The Barclaycard Arena and originally as the National Indoor Arena) is an indoor arena and sporting venue in central Birmingham, United Kingdom. It is owned by parent company the NEC Group. When it was opened in 1991, it was the largest indoor arena in the UK. The arena was renamed Utilita Arena Birmingham on 15 April 2020. The arena is located alongside the Birmingham Canal Navigations Main Line's Old Turn Junction and opposite the National Sea Life Centre in Brindleyplace. Chris O'Hare
Chris O'Hare (born 23 November 1990) is a Scottish middle-distance runner who competes in the 1500 metres. He has represented Scotland at the 2014 Commonwealth Games and Great Britain at the 2016 Olympic Games. Personal life O'Hare was born and brought up in West Linton and attended Peebles High School. He subsequently completed a degree in sports science at the University of Tulsa in the United States, together with his sister Olivia. His younger brother Dominic competed in middle-distance running in Scotland. O'Hare is married and is a fan of Celtic FC. Running career O'Hare was first recruited by University of Tulsa, where he specialized in the 800 m, 1500 m, and mile events. Dario Ivanovski ( mk, Дарио Ивановски) (born 15 May 1997) is a Macedonian long distance runner who runs for AK Delta Skopje and the Macedonian national team. Running career Ivanovski won the 3000 meters at a meet in Elbasan in 2016. In 2017, he won the half marathon race that was part of the Skopje Marathon with a time of 1:11:26. Harvey Dixon (born 2 November 1993) is a Gibraltarian middle-distance runner who competes primarily in the 1500 metres. He represented his country at the 2017 World Championships failing to qualify for the next round despite setting a new national record. Jakub Holuša
Jakub Holuša (, born 20 February 1988) is a former Czech middle-distance runner. He represented his country in the men's 800 meters at the 2008 and 2012 Summer Olympics. At the 2016 Olympics, he competed in the 1500 meters. Running career Holuša first took up athletics in the steeplechase discipline. He made his international debut at the 2005 World Youth Championships in Athletics, where he finished seventh overall in the boys' 2000-meter steeplechase. He gradually switched from training for the steeplechase to focusing on the 800 meters, for which he qualified for the 2008 Summer Olympics.
