2018 UCI Europe Tour
The 2018 UCI Europe Tour was the fourteenth season of the UCI Europe Tour. The 2018 season began on 25 January 2018 with the Vuelta a Mallorca, Trofeo Porreres, Felanitx, Ses Salines, Campos and ended on 16 October 2018 with the Nationale Sluitingsprijs. French rider Nacer Bouhanni (), who scored 1,124 points in the 2017 UCI Europe Tour, 2017 edition, is the defending champion from the 2017 UCI Europe Tour. Throughout the season, points are awarded to the top finishers of stages within stage races and the final general classification standings of each of the stages races and one-day events. The quality and complexity of a race also determines how many points are awarded to the top finishers, the higher the UCI rating of a race, the more points are awarded. Koen Bouwman (born 2 December 1993 in Ulft) is a Dutch cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . Career Bouwman joined in 2016 after riding for the team as a stagiaire the previous season. He competed in his first grand tour in 2016: the Vuelta a España. His first professional win was stage 3 of the 2017 Critérium du Dauphiné. In May 2018, he competed in his first Giro d'Italia. Matthieu Ladagnous (born 12 December 1984) is a French road and track racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . Career Born in Pau, Ladagnous became junior world champion at the madison in Melbourne, Australia in 2002 with his partner Tom Thiblier. In 2003 he won the French national title at the points race for the under-23 level. He also won a bronze medal at the individual sprint (under-23) and a silver medal at the madison with Fabien Patanchon in the elite class. Career Professional career In 2014, Trentin took a prestigious victory on Stage 7 of the Tour de France, where he won the sprint by a few centimeters over Peter Sagan.
