2018 Asian Women's Volleyball Challenge Cup
The 2018 Asian Women's Volleyball Challenge Cup was supposed to be the inaugural edition of the Asian Women's Volleyball Challenge Cup, a biennial international volleyball tournament organised by the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) with Volleyball Association of Hong Kong, China. But due to unforeseen reasons the tournament was not held. Qualification The AVC members associations, some teams were participated for the 2017 Asian Women's Volleyball Championship. The AVC members associations were from five zonal associations, including, Central Asia (2 teams), East Asia (3 team), Oceania (2 team), Southeastern Asia (1 team). The Asian Women's Volleyball Challenge Cup, also known as the AVC Challenge Cup for Women, is an international volleyball competition in Asia and Oceania contested by the senior women's national teams of the members of Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC), the sport's continent governing body. From 2023 edition, the winner will qualify for the FIVB Challenger Cup. This event should not be confused with the other, more prestigious continental competition for Asian national women's volleyball teams, the Asian Volleyball Championship and Asian Volleyball Cup. The two Asian Volleyball Challenge Cup tournaments has been won by two different national teams. Both Hong Kong and Vietnam have won one time. 2018 Asian Men's Volleyball Challenge Cup
The 2018 Asian Men's Volleyball Challenge Cup was the inaugural edition of the Asian Challenge Cup, a biennial international volleyball tournament organised by the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) with Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation (SLVF). The tournament was held in Colombo, Sri Lanka from 15 to 21 September 2018. Qualification The 8 AVC member associations qualified for the 2018 Asian Men's Challenge Cup. Sri Lanka qualified as hosts and the 3 teams were qualified from the 2017 Asian Men's Volleyball Championship while the 4 teams are new entry. The 8 AVC members associations were from 4 zonal associations, including, Central Asia (2 teams), East Asia (2 team), Southeast Asia (1 team), and Western Asia (3 teams).
