The 2017–18 Melbourne Victory FC season was the club's 13th season since its establishment in 2004. The club participated in the A-League for the 13th time, the FFA Cup for the fourth time, as well as the AFC Champions League for the sixth time. Melbourne Victory Football Club is an Australian professional soccer club based in Melbourne, Victoria. Competing in the country's premier men's competition, the A-League Men, under licence from Australian Professional Leagues (APL), Victory entered the competition in the inaugural season as the only Victorian-based club in the newly revamped domestic Australian league. Recognised as the most supported and second most successful club in the league to date, Victory has won four A-League Championships, three A-League Premierships, one Pre-Season Challenge Cup and two Australia Cups, the only club to have won all four domestic trophies in the modern era of Australian soccer. The Australia Cup, formerly known as the FFA Cup until the 2021 season, is the national football knockout cup competition in Australia. This annual competition is organised by Football Australia, formerly known as Football Federation Australia until 2020. The Australia Cup comprises teams from the top division, A-League Men (known as simply the A-League before the 2021–22 season), as well as those from lower tiers in the Australian soccer league system. James Kevin Donachie (born 14 May 1993) is an Australian soccer player who plays as a centre back for Sydney FC in the A-League. Club career Brisbane Roar In 2010, he signed a youth contract with A-League club Brisbane Roar. He made his professional debut in the 2011–12 A-League season on 25 March 2012 in a round 27 clash against Gold Coast United at the Robina Stadium. Joshua Hope (born 7 January 1998) is an Australian former professional footballer who currently plays as an attacking midfielder for Green Gully SC in NPL Victoria.
