2017–18 Liga EBA Season
The 2017–18 Liga EBA season was the 24th season of the Spanish basketball fourth league. The season started in September 2017 and ended in May 2018 with the promotion playoffs to LEB Plata. Overview before the season Teams are divided in five groups attending to geographical criteria. Groups A, C and D are divided in two. Regular season *Group A–A: Basque Country, Cantabria, Castile and León and Navarre. *Group A–B: Asturias, Galicia and Castile and León. *Group B: Community of Madrid, Castile-La Mancha and Canary Islands. *Groups C–A: Catalonia and Balearic Islands. *Groups C–B: Aragon, Catalonia and Balearic Islands. *Group D–A: Andalusia and Melilla. *Group D–B: Andalusia and Extremadura. *Group E: Valencian Community and Region of Murcia. Promotion playoffs The three best teams of each group and the fourth of Group D (champion of the previous season) will play the promotion playoffs. Liga EBA
Liga Española de Baloncesto Aficionado (EBA), commonly known as Liga EBA, is a Spanish basketball championship that is the fourth tier level in the Spanish basketball league system, after the Liga ACB, LEB Oro, and LEB Plata. It is administered by the FEB. It was previously the Spanish second tier level competition from 1994 to 1996, the third tier level from 1996 to 2000, and the fifth tier level, from 2007 to 2009. The Liga EBA is made up of five inter-regional groups. After the regular season, sixteen teams advance to the playoffs, where only four teams are promoted to the LEB Plata. The lowest ranked teams of each group, are relegated to the Primera División. ADB Pas
Agrupación de Baloncesto Pas, also known as Pas Piélagos, is a basketball team based in Renedo de Piélagos, Cantabria, Spain, who currently plays in Liga EBA. History AB Pas was founded in 1979 in Castañeda, Cantabria. In the 1983–84 season, Pas becomes runner-up of 1ª Autonómica League and promotes to the lowest national leagues. In 1991, the team goes to Renedo de Piélagos, where nowadays continue playing. The team promotes to 2ª División, 1ª División and Liga EBA on 2004 after being champions of the Cantabrian group of 1ª División. Agrupación Deportiva Cantbasket 04, also known as Cantbasket, is a basketball team based in Santander, Cantabria, Spain, who currently plays in Liga EBA. History AD Cantbasket 04, registered in the Sports Entities Registry of the Government of Cantabria, was founded in 2004 by two co-founders who began as basketball coaches at Colegio Altamira, located in Revilla, Camargo. Step by step, Cantbasket was growing thanks to agreement with different schools of the city of Santander. After conducting an extraordinary groundwork for a decade, the board of directors decided to take a step further in its strong growth, and enrolls its first team in Liga EBA, fourth tier, taking advantage of the tenth anniversary of the club's foundation. Cantbasket made its debut in the fourth tier on 19 October 2014, with a win in Logroño over the reserve team of CB Clavijo by 77–87. Zornotza Saskibaloi Taldea, also known as Ametx Zornotza for sponsorship reasons, is a basketball team based in Amorebieta-Etxano, Spain. History After several seasons in Primera División, the club rose to Liga EBA thanks to the expansion of the group A of the league. After three seasons in the fourth tier, the club surprisingly promoted to LEB Plata, where it played until 2017.
