The 2017–18 Lega Basket Serie A, was the 96th season of the Lega Basket Serie A (LBA), known for sponsorship reasons as the Serie A PosteMobile, which is highest-tier level professional basketball league in Italy. The regular season started on October 1, 2017, and ended on May 9, 2018, with the playoffs started on May 12 (due to some Italian clubs, Reggio Emilia, Avellino and Venezia, are qualifying for the 2018 EuroCup Playoffs and the 2018 Champions League Playoffs) and finished on June 15, 2018. As in previous years, Molten Corporation provided the official ball for all matches. Umana Reyer Venezia were the defending champions. Venezia finished the regular season as top seeded team for the first time in its history. EA7 Emporio Armani Milano won their 28th title by beating Dolomiti Energia Trento in game 6 of the finals. The 2016–17 Serie A2 season, known for sponsorship reasons as the Serie A2 Citroën, is the 43rd season of the Italian basketball second league Serie A2 Basket. The 2018 LBA Finals was the championship series of the 2017–18 regular season, of the Lega Basket Serie A (LBA), known for sponsorship reasons as the Serie A PosteMobile, the highest professional basketball league in Italy, and the conclusion of the season's playoffs. The second placed EA7 Emporio Armani Milano possessing home advantage (with the first two, the fifth and the seventh games at the Mediolanum Forum) and the 5th placed Dolomiti Energia Trento contested for the title in a best-of-7 showdown, from June 5 to June 15, 2018. The 2017–18 Basketball Champions League was the second season of the Basketball Champions League (BCL), a European-wide professional basketball competition for clubs, that was launched by FIBA. The competition began on 19 September 2017, with the qualifying rounds, and concluded on 6 May 2018. The Final Four, which was held 4–6 May, was hosted at the Olympic Indoor Hall in Athens, Greece. 2017–18 EuroCup Basketball Playoffs
The 2017–18 EuroCup Basketball Playoffs began on 6 March and end on 13 or 16 April 2018 with the second or third leg, if necessary, of the 2018 EuroCup Finals, to decide the champions of the 2017–18 EuroCup Basketball. Eight teams compete in the playoffs. Times up to 24 March 2018 are CET (UTC+1), thereafter (third leg semifinals and finals) times are CEST (UTC+2).
