2017–18 Green Bay Phoenix Men's Basketball Team
The 2017–18 Green Bay Phoenix men's basketball team represented the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay in the 2017–18 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Phoenix, led by third-year head coach Linc Darner, played their home games at the Resch Center, with one home game at the Kress Events Center, as members of the Horizon League. They finished the season 13–20, 7–11 in to finish in seventh place. They defeated Detroit in the first round of the Horizon League tournament before losing in the quarterfinals to eventual Horizon League Tournament champion Wright State. Previous season The Phoenix finished the 2016–17 season 18–14, 12–6 in Horizon League play to finish in a tie for third place. In the Horizon League tournament, they lost to UIC in the quarterfinals. Linc Darner
Linc Mitchel Darner (born December 12, 1970) is an American basketball coach and former men's basketball coach of the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay Phoenix. Darner previously spent nine seasons as the head coach at DII Florida Southern College and four seasons at Saint Joseph's College (Indiana). In 2015, Darner's Florida Southern Moccasins finished 36–1 and won the NCAA Division II National Championship. Darner was named the 2015 NABC UPS DII National Coach of the Year. Darner took over at Green Bay after Brian Wardle left in 2015. In his first season, he led the Phoenix to their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 1996. Darner was fired on May 17, 2020, after posting a 17–16 record in 2019–20. Playing career Darner played high school basketball at Highland High School in Anderson, Indiana. Little Chute, Wisconsin
Little Chute is a village in Outagamie County, Wisconsin, Outagamie County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 10,449 at the 2010 United States Census, 2010 census. It is immediately east of the city of Appleton, Wisconsin and runs along the Fox River (Illinois River tributary), Fox River. The town was originally established as a trading post by French explorers who called it "Le Petite Chute" (Little Chute). Woodridge is a village in DuPage County, Illinois, with small portions in Will County, Illinois, Will and Cook County, Illinois, Cook counties, and a south-western suburb of Chicago. Marquette Golden Eagles Men's Basketball
The Marquette Golden Eagles men's basketball team (formerly the Marquette Hilltoppers and Marquette Warriors) represents Marquette University in NCAA Division I college basketball and competes in the Big East Conference. The team plays its home games at Fiserv Forum in downtown Milwaukee. Seymour Community High School is a public high school in Seymour, Wisconsin administered by the Seymour Community School District. Its enrollment for the 2019–20 school year was 694. Seymour, Wisconsin
Seymour is a city in Outagamie County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 3,451 at the 2010 census. The city is located within the Town of Seymour and the Town of Osborn. History Seymour was founded in 1868 and named after Governor Horatio Seymour of New York. William and John Ausbourne were the first settlers in Seymour. They had traveled from western Outagamie County on the Wolf River during the summer of 1857, making their way to the mouth of the Shioc River and moving to a spot where the Black Creek flows into the Shioc. After finding no more roads to follow, the Ausbournes settled in the present location of Seymour, which was occupied by Native Americans at the time. Marian Catholic High School is a co-educational secondary school in Chicago Heights, Illinois. It is located in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Chicago. History In 1949, after making a request to Samuel Stritch, Cardinal Archbishop of Chicago, a priest at St. Agnes parish in Chicago Heights was given permission to purchase land and begin raising funds for the construction of a coed high school. By 1951 enough capital had been raised to hire a local architect to design the building. The Cardinal then mandated that there were to be two cooperative schools, one for women and one for men, each to be run by a religious order. The new plan called for the first school to accept coed classes until the boys' school was ready, about four years after the school for women was open.
