2017–18 George Washington Colonials Women's Basketball Team
The 2017–18 George Washington Colonials women's basketball team represented George Washington University during the 2017–18 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Colonials, led by second year head coach Jennifer Rizzotti, played their home games at Charles E. Smith Center and were members of the Atlantic 10 Conference. They finished the season 19–14, 10–6 in A-10 play to finish in a tie for fifth place. They won the A-10 tournament by defeating Saint Joseph's and received an automatic bid to the NCAA women's tournament where they lost to Ohio State in the first round. Media WRGW will carry the Colonials games and broadcast them online at GWRadio.com. Jennifer Rizzotti
Jennifer Marie Rizzotti (born May 15, 1974) is an American former collegiate and professional basketball player, and former Division I coach at George Washington University. She is the president of the Connecticut Sun. Rizzotti was inducted into the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame in 2013. Early life Rizzotti attended New Fairfield High School in New Fairfield, Connecticut. The basketball court at the New Fairfield town park was named after Rizzotti in honor of her achievements. She also attended ASIJ in Tokyo, Japan. College career From 1992 to 1996, she was one of the stars of the women's basketball team at the University of Connecticut. She was the starting point guard on the Huskies first national championship team in 1995, which recorded a perfect season, winning all 35 games. Damascus High School (DHS) is a public high school in Damascus, Maryland, United States. It is part of the Montgomery County Public Schools system. Damascus is a census-designated place and an unincorporated area in Montgomery County, Maryland, United States. The Lehigh Mountain Hawks women’s basketball team is a college basketball program representing Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. The Mountain Hawks are a member of NCAA Division I basketball, and compete in the Patriot League. They are coached by Addie Micir, entering her 3rd season as head coach.
