2017–18 FC Midtjylland Season
The 2017–18 FC Midtjylland season was FC Midtjylland's 19th season of existence, and their 17th consecutive season in the Danish Superliga, the top tier of football in Denmark. Outside of the Superliga, Midtjylland competed in the Danish Cup and the UEFA Europa League qualifying rounds. The 2017–18 campaign saw Midtjylland win their second Danish Superliga title, and their first since 2015. FC Midtjylland
FC Midtjylland (, "Central Jutland") is a Danish professional football club based in Herning and Ikast in the western part of Jutland. The club is the result of a merger between Ikast FS and Herning Fremad. Midtjylland competes in the Danish Superliga, which they have won three times, most recently in 2020. Club history FC Midtjylland was founded by Johnny Rune, a carpenter and owner of a private business in the wood-supply industry, and Steen Hessel, an authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer. The two men wanted to unite the football clubs Ikast FS (founded 1935) and Herning Fremad (founded 1918) – clubs that for decades had been strong rivals, but had never played any significant role in Danish football. Rasmus Schmidt Nicolaisen (born 16 March 1997) is a Danish professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for club Toulouse. Club career Born in Aulum, Denmark, Nicolaisen came through the academy of FC Midtjylland. He made his first professional appearance with the club on 7 March 2017 in a Danish Cup game against Kjellerup IF, coming off the bench to replace Kian Hansen in a 3-0 win. Alexander Munksgaard
Alexander Munksgaard Nielsen (born 13 December 1997) is a Danish professional footballer who plays for Czech First League club Baník Ostrava. He has represented Denmark at under-21 level. A product of Midtjylland's youth academy, Munksgaard made his professional debut in July 2015. He had a brief spell on loan with Lyngby during the 2016–17 season before returning to Midtjylland. Markus Halsti (born 19 March 1984) is a Finnish professional football defender and midfielder. Club career In Finland Starting his career in FC Viikingit before moving to HJK in the Finnish top league in 2003, he debuted in 2003. His 2005 season ended badly with a serious injury in the middle of the season. Same injury came later in the beginning of 2007 when he again missed half of the season due to this fracture in his right leg. Zsolt Korcsmár (; born 9 January 1989) is a Hungarian professional footballer who plays as a centre-back and right-back. Club career Újpest Korcsmár played his first match in the Hungarian National Championship I against Budapest Honvéd FC in 2006. Abdul Bilal "Bill" Hamid ( ; born November 25, 1990) is an American professional Association football, soccer player who plays as a Goalkeeper (association football), goalkeeper for D.C.
