The 2017–18 season was AS Monaco FC's fifth consecutive season in Ligue 1 since promotion from Ligue 2 in 2013. They were the defending Ligue 1 champions and also took part in the Coupe de France, the Coupe de la Ligue, the Trophée des Champions and the UEFA Champions League. Association Sportive de Monaco Football Club SA, commonly referred to as AS Monaco () or Monaco, is a professional football club based in Monaco that is member of French Football Federation (FFF) and competes in Ligue 1, the top tier of French football. Founded in 1918, the team plays its home matches at the Stade Louis II in Fontvieille. Its training center is situated in neighboring France, in la Turbie. Though based in Monaco, the club plays in the French football league system. Stade Malherbe Caen (; commonly known as SM Caen, SMC, or simply Caen) is a French professional football team, based in the city of Caen in Normandy, that competes in the Ligue 2. The club was founded on 17 November 1913 by the merger of ''Club Malherbe Caennais'' and ''Club Sportif Caennais''. The team takes its name from François de Malherbe, a 17th century poet from Caen. Adama Salimou Diakhaby (born 5 July 1996) is a French professional association football, footballer who plays as a winger (association football), winger for Azerbaijan Premier League club Qarabağ FK, Qarabağ. Danijel Subašić (born 27 October 1984) is a Croatian professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Hajduk Split. Subašić began his career in Croatia with Zadar and Hajduk.
